This should be the fix to begin with. Again, why can't Ford just admit that it was a differential problem in the first place, and fix these cars? Just insane.

That's easy to say but in real world that may not be the problem. Start from easiest things work your way up. Not this go in do open heart surgery when only needing Band-Aid for the fix.... Been through this many times because people automatically assume it has to be this because they seen it before.

This model, which is employed by every car maker, when presented with the same problem in a percentage of vehicles, is faulty. Once Ford has identified this issue, which I fully believe they have, the fix should be uniform. Ford is going to spend more money throwing parts in the hope of a quick fix (if at all possible) when it would be cheaper just to replace what needs to be replaced in be beginning.

In my situation, when I finally contacted the BBB, office of the CEO of Ford and customer service, Ford corporate reached out to me directly. In my conversation with them, they knew the solution, they were just hoping I would go away. When I made it clear I would proceed with my claim with the BBB and notify my State's Attorney General's Office, the part was magically shipped out to my dealer and miracles or miracles.....fixed the car.

Penny wise and pound foolish is not always the way to go.

But as a tech just can't assume it's the rear.

Was the fix a complete rear diff swap? I ask because I have a brand new car with less than 500miles and it has a vibration

The problem with the service centers is it seems ford does not hold them at all responsible for anything.

My wife has an EB with the vibration. Our dealership has had a rear end on order now for over a month and they still have not gotten it in. I am pretty sure my GT has the same issue. It is not as bad as the wife's but it is still there. I really hope the new rear end fixes it.

Mine has started vibrating from 55 until I get over 70. Gt base 6 speed. I plan to take it into the dealer this week, also need to have the alignment checked it seems to pull randomly on the highway, more so than tramlining would cause it to.

My 46 year old pony starts vibrating around 100, but I think it's the original axle bearings...lol

Wow, I hope that's not an indication of how long mine will take. I was told delivery was to be expected last week. Still nothing so far. Came back from a trip to Niagara Falls today and was gritting my teeth by the time I got home & it's only an hour drive!

My local dealership has the car right now. They took it in on Wednesday of last week and they still have it. The rear end is here but it seems to be taking them a while. I wonder what is going on. I don't think it is limited to just the PP cars. It seems to be some of the S550s across the board.

I have gotten a response from the "hotline" again that the vibration is normal. There is a registered vibration when hooked up to a measurement device.

They hooked it up to an "MTS400":
39MPH - .006G 1st Order Driveline 32 Hz
57MPH - .016G 4th Order Driveline 184 Hz
58MPH - .008G 1st Order Driveline 46 Hz
59MPH - .009G 1st Order Driveline 48 Hz

I did leave some change in my cupholders today to see if they vibrated enough to cause the coins to make noise, and sure enough, they were humming away. Didn't matter which road surface I was on, still made noise.
I have a call with my CSR this week and I fear she will say that they can do no more. I really love the car, but this vibration is a real killer.

Yeah we got a call earlier from the dealership that the new rear end did not fix the issue. They are working with Ford Engineers on it right now. They are keeping the car tomorrow still. It is not looking good. The vibration is my wife's car is bad enough that after 15-20 min of driving it is really annoying and gets on our nerves which sucks. Her car is suppose to be the trip taking car because it is the EB and gets good gas mileage. It is a great car but the vibration is not going to fly.

Yeah we are too. We just got rid of a Dodge vehicle under the lemon law because Dodge could not fix the infotainment system so they did a buy back on it. This Mustang was the replacement for that and now it is having an issue that the dealership is having trouble fixing. They already swapped out the wheels and tires and driveshaft. Those were the first two visits and we are now on our third visit. In VA all it takes is 3 attempts at the same repair with no resolution within the first 18 months and it is eligible for lemon law. These companies have got to stop producing crap and giving it out to the public.
