Didn't Juben and Blacklaw have a crap ton of other parts thrown at their cars before Ford gave in and replaced the differential? How hard is it to analyze the failed differentials from at least these two cars and get a starting point for further analysis. Even better - how about a note to the dealership service departments saying that they are looking into these reports? A little communication goes a long way here.

Sure enough that is what FORD should be doing is analyzing the differentials and whatever else to see exactly what is wrong. Ford has to get with it!! Or else some one has to start writing to Motor Trend, AutoWeek and Car & Driver about these vibration issues.

That's sounds good but then that's what they will all look at first. Just because 2 members here had diff issue doesn't mean that's issue with all of them.

I work for dealership with Cummins we used EDS in most case works good. Going from most likely to least likely in troubleshooting. It's reviewed weekly they make changes to it if needed. Our Paccar engine troubleshooting doesn't do this at this time but will very soon. Caterpiller engine don't change there troubleshooting at all. Issue with this style of troubleshooting most cannot think outside the box (new breed of techs) especially with vehicle been there many times for same issue at multiple dealerships. This is worst at car dealerships because they have it you follow this then after few times back then they call factory. Truck dealerships we're not exactly hand held like this plus there's a lot of things you cannot put troubleshooting guide to. New guys seem to need guide for everything especially ex-military techs.

I've been through this chase a code for SCR/DEF system everything checks ok but truck been in for same problem 7 times in 6 months. While whole time listen to driver bitch and moan on how much this truck apiece a junk and as soon as he gets back to Sioux Falls SD there trading truck in. Thinking it has to be the source so take DEF tank off and of course they fill it up every time check engine light comes on. Guess what tank filter covered with paper and in the bottom ask driver show how he fills DEF tank. OH MY GOD using old anti-freeze jugs and funnel no wonder truck has issue's paper from bottom of the caps and dirt from funnel. I proceed to chastise him problem caused by him and brand truck if there actually getting one will have same issue in 6 months too. Cannot use old jug and funnel have to use pumps at truckstops or buy DEF jugs to fill DEF tank period. Cummins EDS now has you checking DEF tank for crap they have tab to problem with this troubleshooting where you can go in explain things you see and helps them find root cause's better

Im about to schedule another (3rd) visit with another FORD dealer, before I go completely nuts. I think mine is also drive line related, as it gets worse when you're driving, my still puzzled why the vibration resonates through the whole car. I shot a video of it. It's not violently shaking or anything, but you can really feel it. Almost like being in an old muscle car. link to the video I shot. [ame]. Does your car do this? With the hood up, and operating temp, you can put you hand on the edge of the hood and it resonates through your arm. Sit in the car, and you can feel it in the seat. Touch the front edge of the convertible top, and it feels like a personal massager.

Called into Ford end of day last Friday, the 14th for an update. Followup calls each subsequent business day, with no reply to any of the voice mails I had to leave with my assigned Customer Service Manager. By Thursday, I finally got someone to track her down and I was told [by someone else in the department] that a call would come from dealer by today Friday 21st. Jeez, what a peeve, being ignored like that.
Dealer calls today, says both my stang & another stang, which is being followed for this same issue, will be checked next Thursday by a couple of Ford engineers. No idea how long they are expecting to keep the car.
And gosh, it only took 3 months to get to this point...

***ARBITRATION UPDATE***

I just received word today that BBB arbitrator has ruled in my favor, and has ordered Ford to replace my vehicle. :headbang: Yup...the car that has "nothing" wrong with it is getting replaced! :clap2:

Unfortunately, it won't be a as simple as just slapping my old plates on a new Mustang and driving off; they will be deducting some money for the miles I put on the car up until the date of the arbitration. I will have to get more specific details on how the final transaction will work before I accept the settlement. I would hate to accept it and then find out that it's going to cost me a wad o' dough to make it happen.

I hope the rest of the process goes pretty quickly; I found the exact car that I want sitting on a dealer's lot 8 hours away from where I live...ROAD TRIP! It will probably get snapped up before all of the arrangements are finalized, but I can dream...

So...if you are another one of those unlucky beta-testers like me, don't despair! I strongly encourage you to file a claim with the BBB if Ford gives you the run-around on getting your car fixed. It is very easy to do, as long as you can be patient. The time between filing my claim to getting a ruling from the arbitrator was about 3 months. I also had to take a morning off of work to present my case at the hearing, but it was well worth it to receive a favorable ruling.

Here is the link you will need to get the ball rolling:

https://www.bbb.org/council/programs-services/dispute-handling-and-resolution/bbb-auto-line/

They will guide you through the whole process step by step, and a representative will be assigned to you that will promptly answer any questions you may have.

Do it! you have nothing to lose! And remember...if enough people file claims about the same problems, it may encourage Ford to issue TSBs to get these problems fixed.

I sincerely hope that all of you out there that are having problems with your Mustangs are able to get them solved one way or another!

Thanks for the info, Blacklaw. I have all of that, plus a lengthy "Timeline" that I wrote some time ago. The arbitration hearing is on early September, but the manufacturer representative won't be there in person (not sure if that's a good thing). I'm excited, but nervous :D
Guio - no need be nervous about the hearing..it's a piece o' cake. My hearing also had the Ford rep calling in by phone. I was curious about who would be representing Ford..would it be an engineer or a corporate attorney??? Turns out it was neither...it sounded like a administrative assistant, to be honest. She had no technical knowledge whatsoever, and it sounded like she read all of her comments and responses right off of a script!

You have excellent documentation on your timeline, so I'm sure that your testimony will blow theirs right out of the water! Good luck, and keep us posted!

Congrats on your success!
My app't with Ford engineer today was cancelled to be replaced by a straight... "We're going to put a new rear end in." The order s/b in next week some time. This should tell the tale, one way or the other.

My Mustang has been in the shop for the past 2 days being inspected and measured for the vibration issue. Dealer just called to let me know they are going to install a new rear end. Parts are on order, they don't know when to expect them. Hope this gets the car driving like it should.

I have recently picked up a new performance package GT. And sure enough between 55-65 there is a slight vibration. Nothing to cause the body to jump just a slight vibration. How bad was your guys?

This should be the fix to begin with. Again, why can't Ford just admit that it was a differential problem in the first place, and fix these cars? Just insane.

I know! None of my dealers even looked at the diff, even though I told them that others were having success with that. Too bad for them; it's costing them a helluva lot more now...BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!
