Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

I'm not making any mods to mine for this reason. They will not have anything to complain about if it comes to then buying mine back. Big question is how much will I loose. Only owned it two months.

Mileage at first report (first service for the issue)/100000*MSRP of the car. that is all they can charge you but they will not pay for anything aftermarket

Some people in this thread have had success in clearing the vibration while other have not, and various parts have been replaced or repaired. It would probably be helpful to do a round-up, make a list of what worked and what did not because so many different things have been tried.

I have been turning wrenches for 30 plus years, build race cars and have built a few drive shafts in my time. They only follow what FSE tell then to do. Kinda like robots if you will. No punt intended sorry. But that's the way it is.

In my case the dealer followed instructions from FSE as well. Indexed the driveshaft first, then went straight to rebuilding the differential, then replaced the driveshaft, and finally replacing the complete differential built by Ford. The order of repairs was different from what others reported on this thread. They also never looked at the tires for balance. I've only driven it back from the dealer, and the next day, but it's gone for now.

I will admit MY frustration at this point come from the fact that there are so many out there with this issue. Many stories as you know of being turned away by dealers. I have NOT been turned away by anyone at this point and so hoping I don't. The big issue for me at this point is it's 55 miles one way to the dealer. I have made three round trips there and we are just beginning. They have asked me to drop off and leave it now. One of My concerns as mentioned in another thread is the disrespect. Dings , dents and who knows what else. All involved so far have been nice and not rude. But you know the old saying about wearing out your welcome!!

You would also think that Ford's Engineering Team would have identified crucial or problematic parts or assembly issues by now - after all, the 3rd model year is out and the issues are still persistent.

So why isn't Ford Service giving any updates as to what Ford is doing about the situation?

Maybe all of the online complaints (not just here) is swaying potential buyers from even considering an S550 - because there's complaints logged everywhere about this driveline vibe - just google "S550 vibration", "Mustang 2015 vibration", "Mustang 2016 vibration", "Mustang S550 driveline vibe", etc... yep, that explains why S550 sales have dropped off significantly...

You have Dealers who don't care to do warranty work, you have Techs and Service Managers that won't take the time to test drive properly or listen to the actual Customer who in some instances KNOWS MORE than they do, because the Customer researched the issue... you have Ford who knew of the issue since day 1 where it's documented in the "Faster Horse" documentary about the S550 redesign...

Ford doesn't want to take responsibility even when they know of the issue - just keep selling and who cares.... so I guess they're willing to eat all of the Lemons.

The problem is they move the lemons to another state and oops they lost the lemon paperwork. Sell the car again and hope for the best

how many miles were on it when you got it?
You can have your dealer give you a service report that will show all the times that car has been worked on under warranty

Had 15171 when I bought it and it has just over 17,000 now. And they have given me all Peres work from when I bought it. Refused anything prior.

you have no remorse. You cannot lemon it because you are not the original owner and I bet it has been more than a year since it was sold the first time. Your only hope to have them do anything is if you can trace its VIN history and find out it was a lemon and they did not tell you.

For my money if you like the car, other than the vibration, I would get the Steeda IRS Braces, NOT THE ALIGNMENT KIT, and square your IRS Cradle then install the braces to see how it does. I would be willing to bet anyone that reports the issue fixed and then comes back would be good if they let them "Fix it" and then install the braces to keep it in align. I think the lower durometer bushings in the cradle allow it to shift over time.

Any S550 that has been Lemon'd, the VIN # should be posted in the Lemon Law thread in this very forum with the words "CARFAX", "AUTOCHECK", "LEMON" "eBay", "Craigslist" and "DO NOT BUY". Anyone who tries to do a CarFax lookup on those VINs will get the forum hit from here - which should (will) deter anyone from buying a POS S550 that was Lemon'd for a damn good reason. So the Lemon'd S550 will sit stagnant on X-Dealer's lot, and lets see how they and the Banks like accruing monthly interest and fees on a LEMON.
