Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

I get no phone call from my service advisor , spoke to him last week and he said my differential came in and they were working on my car putting it in . Now it shouldn't take a week to put a diff in . They must have ran into problems or the cars still making the noise

Its prob still making noise, that's how mine went. I am glad the dealership isn't telling me its done only to have me bring it right back. I got one more week in me then my patience will be done. Ford did say they want to compensate me for the inconvenience...

Sorry to hear all of the problems some of you guys are having with vibration at speed.

My car had a rumble that started about 70MPH that I noticed when I first got the car. I just lived with it for 32,000 miles and had to replace original P-Zero all season with Michelins---my rumble / vibration went away. My original tires were balanced properly---go figure

Exactly... my dealer would call me every time they did something and say it was fixed- and they knew it wasn't. 8 visits, rental cars, etc. It's such a bitter pill that you don't want to ever buy another car there again because they have no regard for your time.
My guess is that without the vibration analysis equipment, the dealers are just shooting in the dark and any TSB would require the equipment- which they told me was in the 10K range and Ford doesn't require them to buy it. So, they are using FSE's to work on these cars and hoping that most people don't notice it or just live with it. But, it is a lot of cars and vibration wears out parts prematurely, so I wouldn't want to own one after the drivetrain warranty is up.

That's why the tech said mine was better after the rear diff was replaced. was already wearing the rear diff. I just bought mine April 14th, brought it back to the dealership the 15th, picked up the 16th, back the 19th and they have had it since. The 30 day clock is ticking :clap2: Wednesday the Ford engineer is flying in and if they say it's just how it is I'll EXPLODE!! addle:

and useful members of this forum chastise me for boldly calling out Ford to release a TSB, and because I refuse to bring my car to the dealer without one and participate in this mickey mouse bullshit.


anything we can do force Ford's hand for a faster, complete solution?

I dont care if the solution is a new trans, driveshaft, and diff package for every car - they need a repeatable fix they can apply to all cars that will 100% fix the problem every time quickly.

brb going to edmunds and other websites to spread links to this thread to inform the uninformed populous about this seemingly unfixable problem.


And Dayisha, or whoever the Ford rep is, please get us a response this week from Ford engineering about the internal status of this problem and proposed resolution / TSB date.

That's because the way you going about it doesn't get anything fixed. Also screaming for TSB doesn't mean it's a FIX. What you going to do if there not TSB? I know why don't you call them everyday see where that gets you. Don't just chastise Ford because all other car manufacturer do the same.

I plan on the skipping this carnival, aluminum driveshaft is going in next Wednesday already ordered it. I will say this, I had the car up on a lift today and the 2 piece...pos driveshaft they have on these cars has so much play in them. As well as the center bushing its no wondered they vibrate.

I will be reporting back on how it turns out, because as it is right now I cant stand driving this thing on the highway it feels like the wheels are gonna fall off.

I spent some time today reading all the posts, its so overwhelming! Every mustang forum has some kind of thread similar to this one. How can the Ford reps read all this and feel good about the MOCO they work for. I mean its just heart breaking to read the disappointment and anger after spending this kind of money for what we have received. For some people its their primary form of transportation, for others a weekend toy, either way its just unacceptable. I pride myself with buying American and yet I question why at times. As an Aircraft Tech I can't 1/2 ass fix anything as Ford is attempting to do with this problem that is plaguing the S550. If my vehicle isn't fixed after 30 days I will find a solution. 16 days in service out of 21 days of ownership. Got to love it!

What shaft did ya buy? I've been looking at one from DSS but they are made to order. I guess I could get a DSS from Am Muscle if they have stock. The only way i would put on a single piece is after the pinion flange was checked and determined with in spec. I thought the max runout was .0035.

Not sure, potentially millions but for now it seems like they are happy to do this case by case and buy back cars if needed.

I'm starting to wonder if people like yourself are brainwashed by the Internet that a "vibration" is present, when in fact the "vibration" is simply the road surface and suspension firmness.

I've driven multiple S550s (both Ecoboost and GT) and never have I experienced any objectionable "vibration". In fact, I drove a 2015 GT PP MT82 every day last week at highway speeds and never once experienced any "vibration issue"; in fact it was extremely smooth by sports car standards.

Does anyone have measured readings from this claimed "vibration"? I find it very strange that people on here claim "they all do it" yet I've never experienced said vibration in an of the S550s I've driven, and nobody has any proof that it exists in the form of diagnostic readings.
