Just don't care
This seems like a good deal for a track rat

Being that it is an R, I would say the price is great! Except I need the R wheels if i where to purchase a used R. Deal breaker! If I wanted a track rat I would buy a miataIt's one of the 64 Base R's built for the 2016MY with my main concern would be how much of the ~3500 miles were on the track?
From what I can see the front end does not have much road rash which might indicate not much track time but certainly any car that comes with a tow bar should mean some serious track time so who knows.
Also comes with a full tank of gas and aftermarket floor mats so that is always good!!
Wonder if the Shelby owners kit and original window sticker come with the car?
;)
I'm with you as to have an R without the CF wheels would not be acceptable.Being that it is an R, I would say the price is great! Except I need the R wheels if i where to purchase a used R. Deal breaker! If I wanted a track rat I would buy a miata

Coyote engine. Just not the same. With camber/caster plates, tow hook and a lot of negative camber up front someone had a ton of fun with this car.also, comes with camber caster plates. I see that the car has tons of negative camber up front.
As you mentioned there is no question that these R models are a purpose built track car but having said that if I was going to purchase a used R model I personally would rather purchase an R model that had not been tracked than one that had all subject to the eventual purchase price. It's fascinating to me how there is concern whether or not this purpose-built track car has been tracked. Not criticizing, just an amusing observation when you stand back from it.![]()
I don't think its the fact that it has been tracked but rather how was it maintained while tracked. My R was tracked at Sebring and Daytona but the individual I purchased from is now a good friend and was a meticulous owner. It's fascinating to me how there is concern whether or not this purpose-built track car has been tracked. Not criticizing, just an amusing observation when you stand back from it.![]()
This is what I was thinking for scenario: Guy has an R but is trading it in to an unsuspecting dealership (non-Ford?) who is pricing the trade value of the car based on market value but has no idea the big ticket wheels have been replaced. If the dealer didn't catch the non-original R wheels at the time of trade-in, the previous owner could have sold them separately and made $8-$10k on the wheel sale.
You paid $55K for an R?52k is a fair price for this car. I got my 17 new for $55k with electronic package plus free maintenance and extended warranty.
