:thumbsup::thumbsup:I'm an engineer, I agree with that statement. But, as an engineer, too many rules resulting in over designing of items.
What railroad do you work for?

Sneaky, 16 but your comment caused me to reach my daily goal of learning something, thanks. :-)

Q: Does anybody know the history of the striped railroad engineers cap?

A: The stripped material is pillow ticking...the material pillows were made out of, a light canvas weave, to keep the down or feather stuffing from sticking through the pillows...bed mattresses and furniture cushions were also made from the same, then covered in a more decorative cloth.

I would imagine the material was used simply because it was cheap and readily available, very durable and that most of the early engineers had their wives make them hats out of it to keep the ash and cinder out of their hair.

Difficult to imagine a world without the Internet and I sure use the heck out of it. Thing is, who do you trust these days? <smile>

I like to disassemble things.
I pray he isn't a "software engineer."

I'm a "Systems" Engineer. It's so vague that I know everything.

My little brother is a "systems engineer" at JPL and despite having had him TELL me what he does many times, I couldn't tell ya perzactly..it's complicated but I got the gist. :-)
