I thought the same about "weeks."

Jaime: First, I hope you don't mind if I fail to use the @ moniker all the time, that gets tedious but I know it's helpful. Helpful UNLIKE these irritating forum ads that cause the page to redraw every time one of them changes size/clip. Grrr...

Secondly, I saw this morning that there are two factory grounds on the passenger tower, I hadn't seen the one under the brace before but I'm guessing that one is for the starter?

Anyway can you or anyone confirm or deny whether having my maintainer ground on the other tower ground is the same one as the PCM? As you can see, I used the #1 position but I don't think it would be a major PITB to move those two connections from one to the other.

A ground is a ground. Makes no difference. Just make sure not to hook it to the battery directly as that would bypass the monitor system. Keep it simple.

Former IBEW journeyman electrician here, and I do believe the chassis of a corvette is aluminum, right? Maybe not the best chassis ground, but you are right, its better than fiberglass.

The newer ones are aluminum. Older ones are steel with fiberglass body. My friend had a very nice ‘66 fastback with a 327, 4 sp. Looked awesome. But the electrical gremlins drove him crazy and he gave up and sold it (he actually traded it even for a new pick-up truck!). Couldn’t keep a good ground to the tail lights...

I was just commenting that #1 or #2 didn’t make any difference for the trickle charger. Both are chassis ground, just a few inches apart.

Ground yes positive OK , better is to go to the battery . The computer systems monitor the negative side of the battery , that is why you want to be hooked to a body ground . So to speak down stream from the sensor

I thought the amp sensor was on the center positive terminal in the fuse box.

If you look at that wire it runs through a loop that looks like an am-meter shunt.

Uhhh, have not driven in weeks? The battery will be quite low. You can get a battery maintainer for less than $40. If you brick your car you would pay many times that to resolve.

Do it right or don't do it. Flashing the ECU is nothing to trifle with. Also, draining even a new battery below about 11.9 volts is bad ju-ju and will ruin the battery. Car batteries are for starting, not powering the accessories.

I did kill the batter twice and it started up 30 minutes later. I did a reset last night. I will get a better charger to make sure its good the next time per Palm Beach.
I did not see a maintainer under 60$ at Adv. Auto. I will check Loes.

Oh, I start it up every few days and pull it out of garage and let run 5-10 minutes. Just not drive anywhere.
