i just called 3 of my local dealers and they all had FL-2087 in stock. all have them at list price $38.51 although they usually give 10% off if i ask for it. try your local dealers.
You’re out in California right? If my dealer falls through I’ll reach out to one of yours.

I reached out to Mobil1, AFE, and K&N to ask if their filter designs are based on FL-2062 or FL-2087...Mobil1 and AFE said theirs are based on 2062. Mobil1 told me flat out they do not offer a filter application for the 2018+ GT350 AND GT500. Based on the initial responses from both, I don't think they were even aware of the difference. AFE said they're looking at designing an application for the 2087 design.

It's been over a week and K&N hasn't answered.

I'm sure any of these would be no worse than using a 2062. If I needed to change my oil now and didn't have a 2087 filter on-hand, I'd likely opt for the K&N based on the design. HP-7037.

Don’t forget Amsoil has the correct oil filter also. Yes, it technically crosses with the 2062 (for look up purposes), but as others have stated, a high quality filter that will pose zero issues. Even though the only concern is the collapse issue, the Amsoil filter will already have a media like the 2087 and was most likely already superior to the 2062.

Anyone else having an issue finding oil filter
FL-2087?

looking to do my oil change before putting the car away for the winter and I can’t find it anywhere.

plus, the prices I’ve seen seem kind of high to me compared to last year.

Are there any aftermarket cartridges that have a metal frame internally? That would be one to have instead of the 2087.

No, not a single one does. The K&N appears to have a plastic reinforcement tube, but they haven't answered my request for info, so I can't confirm.

I have both versions of the K&N Filter and don’t see much difference:

Inside, they look the same:

In both cases, the liner is plastic. The only difference I see is that the PS-version comes with black “O” rings while the HP-version comes with red “O” rings.

I’ll keep using either as they work fine in my GT500.

bcuz the 2087 is the new superseded metal internal 350/500 filter. I have 5 if anyone needs one
Hold on to what you have. You can't find the FL-2087 anywhere and I'm not sure I trust using the K&N HP-7037. It's crazy right now, even the dealerships can't give me a direct answer when they're coming back in stock.

I’ve been using the K&N for years on track. Not sure why you don’t trust them?

If you were desperate would you trust using the K&N HP-7037 or Amsoil filter on a 2019 GT350?
I’m not desperate and that’s all I have used since I got the car.
All my miles are on track or to/from a track.

Ok well that's at least good to hear. Are you using Motorcraft 5w50 or Amsoil? Also, I shouldn't say I don't trust K&N or this model filter, it's just that the FL-2087 is lined with metal where the K&N is plastic. I have no idea if that really makes much of a difference but I assume Ford makes them that way for a reason

The K&N filter is very sturdy. Not sure why Motorcraft updated theirs, but that’s fine too. There was a rumor of collapsed filters but turned out to be improperly installed filters that got twisted and crushed. And that was a factory install.

I only use Castrol 5W50 in my cars (not trying to start another “oil” thread). Just responding to a question.
I know OEM recommendations are meant to meet their minimum requirements. But I always go a bit better.
