Nice.Who pays list price for parts? http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/fl2069st
thats cool, but if you can't afford a ford racing filter for gt 350I get the wix/Napa gold from fleet filter for $4. 10,000 to 15,000 mile intervals and I have three vehicles with over 200,000 miles (one near 400,000 before I sold it) never low compression or a rebuild.
Well I could also "afford" ADM but I'm not going to pay it. Of course I'm going to use the correct filter, just wondering what makes it special. Might be some neat engineering in there but we won't know until someone gets to cutting!thats cool, but if you can't afford a ford racing filter for gt 350
likely shouldn't be buying the car.
Just saying;)
So because there is better filters for cheaper means he cant afford the car? Thats the dumbest thing ive read on this forum today. Good job.:tsk:thats cool, but if you can't afford a ford racing filter for gt 350

I guess you havent ever used a bosch filter or purolator pureone. Both under 10 bucks and very good. Even bitog find them to be good filters.Whenever I see people buy sub $10 oil filters, I always think of this: http://www.christiandegraaf.com/2011/08/oil-filter-differences.html
I don't think there's anything particularly special about the Motorcraft filter, but I've heard and seen enough of the cheap filters to know that they're special in a bad way. I usually buy filters in the $15 range, so an internet part supplier is fine for the Motorcraft. I agree, it's pretty ridiculous at $30 a piece.
Never worked at a dealer thats required that to be covered by warranty.I know you can use an approved oil to replace the Motorcraft 5W-50, like Amsoil 5W-50, but don't you technically have to use a Motorcraft filter to keep the warranty intact?

No car manufacturer can make you use any of their filters. It is against the law for them to void a warranty because of a oil filter brand. What will void the warranty is not changing it within the manufacturers recommend time and mile frame. It's called the magnuson moss act.I know you can use an approved oil to replace the Motorcraft 5W-50, like Amsoil 5W-50, but don't you technically have to use a Motorcraft filter to keep the warranty intact?
