Cheapest filter price+shipping I've found was rockauto.com

I've got four cases of Mobil 1 5W-50 I picked up a couple months ago that I'll sell you for the cheapest price you can find.

IIRC, the only other non-Ford motor oil that meets Fords spec is Amsoil.

Yeah Walmart doesn't have the oil and neither do any part stores (O'Rileys). The filter on Rockauto is real cheap.

AFAIK, Mobil 1 is not up to ford spec. I'm sure the point is moot, but oil has to meet ford spec to maintain warranty. A vs B specification

It just doesn't meet Fords spec. I thought you knew that would mean if your engine blows and you show Ford your Mobil 1 receipt, they are going to void your warranty. Your only options are either Ford oil or the Amsoil that meets Fords spec.

I've never used Ford spec oil but being this is the only real high performance car I've owned and want to take care of it I want it to be right.

I think mobil 1 is great stuff. Been using it for a long time in all my other cars. However, the GT350 specs in your supplement say to use XO-5W50-QGT with a specification of WSS-M2C931-B. Mobil 1 does not meet specification WSS-M2C931-B. Mobil 1 is WSS-M2C931-A. This is probably that mobil 1 didn't want to buy into fords specification and as far as I know, no other oil meets that spec. Another member here says amsoil does, but I can not verify that.

If you do not use oil that is spec'd for the vehicle and you run into a warranty issue, you may have problems.

I was in the same boat and almost bought a bunch of mobil-1 until I ran across this in my reasearch. I wound up buying a case of the motorcraft oil from fordpartsgiant.com instead.

Of course, do what you want. Im just speaking out on warranty issues and complications down the road. Ask your dealer or service department about using an oil outside of fords specification for this vehicle.

I hope this was helpful.

This was very helpful! Thank you for the info. I've been reading the "Lets talk about oil" thread and Amsoil looks to be about as good as it gets
