Two days here too! I want to know how you got 7? :)
Ha. Smooooooooth is the name of the game. The trick is to heat cycle them so bad on day 1 that they are so slippery from then on that you have to drive extra super duper carefully.

This lap is with 7 day old Cup2s and is over 3 seconds off the pace they were on day 1 - and that's why big improvements in my driving. But the lap is pretty buttery smooth

Somewhat off topic but since all you track tire geeks are now subscribed to this thread - I just discovered the GT350 I recently bought has Michelin PS4S on the front and Nitto NT555 G2 tires on the rear. I'm going to Thunderhill this weekend - should I scramble to get Michelin PSS (or PS4S with a 30 aspect ratio) for the rear?

I've been doing some hard canyon carving since I got the car and did not notice the rear behaving any differently from the front. I'm of the mind of "run what I've got" given this is my first HPDE with the GT350.

Sounds like you've done track days before with other cars? I'd run what you have, just be a little more cautious building up speed till you know for sure which end is going to slide first.

Thanks for the affirmation. I'll do that.

My last track day was in my wife's 320i with Continental summer tires that I must have heat cycled into oblivion. They were like driving on butter by the end of the weekend. Come to think of it, I think she's still driving around the street on those same tires... :)

Going with NCRC?
If so, which run group?

I run RT660 on both my track cars and they perform as good or better than SC2's in every way. They only down side is if they get wet or if it's really cold.
Are you able to share what size you're running with the RT660 on your R? I'm looking to replace my cup 2's with something a little less expensive and square. I'll be using the stock wheels

I’m about ready to go to a square setup, for mainly tire wear longevity. What is the preferred norm for tire rotation and interval? Is it all based on watching tread wear or are there other factors to consider?

The Falken Azenis RT660 comes in the stock GT350R tire sizes for both front and rear....305/30R19 (front) and 315/30R19 (rear). I've never run a square setup on the 350R because the stock carbon fiber wheels have different front and rear widths.

I ran what I had - Michelin PS4S in the front and Nitto NT555 G2 in the back. They did great. I was plenty fast (lapping people in my group). Best of all I only burned off 1/32” of tread (from 8 to 7) all around which was surprising for 6 hours of track time across 2 days.

I heard good reviews on the Goodyear Supercar 3 from a couple instructors at the event. One guy with a Camaro said he got 15 track days out of his set.
