Sometimes Discount Tire throws crazy sales on Nittos, and I can't not buy them...
Discounttire Ebay now (till end of the month) has $100 off $400. NT01 is $413 each, with $100 instant off, that comes to $313 each..... not sure if you can use the instant off 4 times though.

I got my last set for $200 per tire from DTD during their July 4 sale. I should have bought more sets then. Oh well...

Stuntman, my first thought was more camber but having about 3neg now, I think it is more low tire pressure and going to hard too fast. I think I may try a stiffer rear sway bar and have hot pressures over 40 as Hoosier recommends.
Tire pressures and camber should be dictated by the results from a PROBE type tire pyrometer, not a blanket statement from a tire manufacturer.

A 2,000lb mid-engine car with SLA suspension running on 305s will have far different camber and tire pressure needs than a 4,000lb front engine car with struts running on 245s.

I totally agree about a statement from Hoosier but since I can't get the needed data now I need to find a good starting point where I will not ruin another set of tires in first session. Last time I ran a front engine car it weighed 2700 and was better balanced. The GT350 was very fast last weekend with much more potential. I was able to go faster than my 15, GT3 already it will be a contender for TTOD when sorted.

I just used this last week. If you check out as a guest and use your paypal account linked to a credit card, you can use it 4 times. I just got my set of 305/30/19's for $1252...not too shabby.

They just arrived yesterday and will get them mounted this week. If I didn't have an office move this weekend I would totally be down at the Ridge this weekend to try them out.

Who is going to be the first to run the Goodyear Supercar 3R? This is the OEM tire on the Camaro ZL1-1LE. They're well priced...

Just ran those last weekend at WSIR, Big Willow. Had 305/325 on stock GT350 wheels (bought from CSL !!). Mine is a bone stock GT350r with front camber plates (-3.5”) and the narrower wheels.

IMO, 3R is a stickier fire than SC2. At least in the 50-60F weather. But they do wear quite a it faster than SC2. So The price advantage cancels out imo.

What times were you running and do you have any comparison with other tires. What camber plates were you using that you got 3.5-?

ran a 1:27.50. my first ever track session with this car.

I was chasing my buddy (Emilio of 949racing, a top national caliber driver) around. He was a slightly slower (he did a 1:28.0 in the same session) in the corners.

my car: stock GT350R with 305/325 3R on GT350 wheels, camber plate (set at -3.5)

Emilio: GT350 with r-replica spoiler and splitter, FP spring, camber bolts, R-replica aluminum wheels on 305/305 Walmart special SC2 (ones that was on sale couple of weeks ago. His is basically an R with smaller rear tire.

I had wider rear tires, we both had same camber settings (close). I was on narrower wheels. Not very scientific test, as Stuntman will say. But 3R is faster imo, but it also wore a lot faster (another long story which I will leave out for now)......

the prettier one is mine (middle)

Very impressive times, I usually only get there when its hot anymore. I talked to Emilio at Buttonwillow in November we were there for the PCA event the following days, He was driving very well there. At some point I will be at the same event as you guys with the GT350 and leave the GT3.

Those Walmart specials didn’t hold up very long. I went to get a set and price already ran up.

That's a good time. Looks like you can wring some more out of the GT350...What do you think is possible for a Big Willow lap time with the 350?

me ? mine is a gray GT350R. 949racing car is orange.
26s is definitely doable with better line through T9 and more camber on driver side (-3.5 isn't enough, it needs a little more than -4).

I see you are not local, probably don't know the track that well.. T9 is a decreasing radius turn. minimum speed in the GT350R was 98MPH.... trick is to ride the outside at entry. problem is if you go off, you are GUARANTEED to hit a concrete wall. So I always take the chicken line and leave ~1/2 second on the table.
