Yeah I usually do. This was a charity ride along event and it was 3 laps, drop off passenger, pick up another. So constantly pulling the car in the pits and heat soaking everything. I wasn't aware of the starter issues in general, so I wasn't as cautious about it as I should have been.
I mentioned that Mosport (GP track, yes. Should've specified) is hard on the driver side tires, particularly the front tire (this one pictured). I was more asking about this particular part of the tire in the photo attached. I've seen this wear pattern on the inside of street tires, particularly...
Yeah for sure - I should have been more specific though, there's a bald strip down the outside of both front tires, maybe the picture doesn't show it so well.
So we all know how it goes, decide to go to the track and "take it easy" but by the third session you're going as fast as you can.. Yesterday was my first time really pushing this 350R on a track that is very high speed (Mosport/Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) and extraordinarily hard on the...
That's all really great information thanks for taking the time to write that out. Definitely gives insight to what I'm trying to comprehend.
I definitely understand the differences between SC2s and PS4S lol.. Which I think is what some perhaps thought I was asking. But it was all about steering...
So I have a 2019 R and let me tell you - the tramlining is still there with the SC2 - but basically completely gone with the PS4S. Is it worse on 2015 to 2018s?
I believe this best answers my question - and I think you're right, the sidewall flex is what I'm feeling the most. The 305 and 315 with PS4S have much bulkier, rounder sidewalls than the SC2s or even PSS. The SC2s almost had a stretched look to them when they were on the wheels; the PS4S is...
They are currently at 32PSI. I will put some more miles on it and see what happens. I have a track day coming up in a few weeks, nothing crazy, giving ride alongs to kids for charity. But we'll see what happens when they heat up and increase pressure.
Currently running 32. I assumed it was the...
if you read the entire post you’ll see that I’m making a comparison to supersports as well, and noticing a difference. I have a ton of experience with street, track, and racing tires, and this is my first set of PS4S. So I’m asking about them.
Hah Reddit is my homepage! And yeah it's something that I can feel on the street, I installed them a few weeks ago. I thought maybe it was because they are new. They definitely have a blockier tread pattern on the outside, which would contribute to the steering feel
It's just confusing to me...
So this might be an insanely dumb question but hear me out. I recently took off my Sport Cup 2's on my GT350R after 5k miles and 2 track days, they still had a good amount of tread on them but I wanted a more street friendly tire. I opted for the Pilot Sport 4S in OE sizing; 305/30 and 315/30...
It has the tech package I believe? B&O Stereo as well as carbon fibre dash.
So it's a bit complicated with regards to what I paid, I believe MSRP was 97,000 CAD. I bought a 2018 GT350 for $67,000 with 6000 miles on it, and put another 6000 miles before I traded it in for the R that had 4000...
I think my math is right here but, that should be..
6.35mm or 0.25" LESS clearance in the front and 2.35mm or 0.1" of more clearance in the rear. I think looks wise it would look fine but I'm concerned about the clearance for the brakes/suspension
I've got an opportunity to buy some OEM PP2 wheels with Pilot Sport Cup 2 (305/30/19 square) for an excellent price. I would love to use the PP2 wheels for the street and the CF wheels for the track. Has anybody done this?
The OEM wheel sizes are:
PP2 wheels are:
19x10.5 ET24
19x11 ET48
GT350...
Yeah thats what I figured you would say. So, there are no 315/30/19 available anywhere near me but it looks like I can get my hands on a pair of 305/30 for the front. Would you reccommend against replacing the front 2 tires and leaving the rear as they are?
