If one puts any lube or anti-seize on the studs, there is information out there that you need to reduce the torque specified as it ain't 'dry'. I washed with soap and water all over my engine and under the hood straight after. Luckily it sprayed mostly in the engine compartment and on the underhood. I also have ppf'd my front so I bet it helped. So far it looks okay. I think the red Alu cap is the answer.
