What can you guys pass along to some of us novice folks about fuel consumption during time at the track? Sure that there is plenty of variations & maybe the info will give us newbies some idea.

TIA

30 mins full out will leave you with a little less than half a tank. You don't want to go much less than that because you can fuel starve the engine during banks or maneuvering

Fill the tank up before you go to a track day. I used about 3/4 tank on (4) 20 minute sessions. Don’t try to save weight by going on a light tank because as mentioned above you can starve the engine.

What they said.
I arrived at the track with only half-a-tank. By the time I finished a few 20-minute sessions, I was almost empty and had to refuel at the track. Gas there costs about two-and-a-half times normal.

20 minutes sessions on VIR, high speed 3.2 mile track would see 1/4 tank go on each run.
The more you track, the faster you go, the more the fuel disappears.
About 7-8 mpg when going hard in my GT.

In the GT350 you can calculate about 6 MPG, that should provide how many laps you can go on your specific track and keep a safety factor depending on what fuel is available at or near the track.

I fill up 2 times a track day. Civic guys do once a day. You also can't run under 1/4 or you may starve in the corners

Thanks Guys! Great info. Would like to acquire a trailer at some point. Trying to figure out how much of a trailer is needed. We can get race fuel from our farm supplier , yea you ought'a see these John Deeres run this stuff.LOL Have an idea of using a semi fuel tank mounted in the trailer for race fuel. Sounds as that might take care of a weekends fuel.

I run about 1/4-1/3 tank per session. I’ve seen 4-6.5mpg on average. When I trailer, I bring 20 gallons with me plus the full tank in the car and burn through most of it.

I haven’t ever had fuel starvation before and I’ve run it down to ~5 miles remaining warning. Funny watching multiple miles tick off every lap. Ha

I've talked to a few GT350 owners with no fuel starvation issues even running it down to ~5 miles remaining warning. Twin pumps for the GT350 helps a lot.

At VIR I added fuel for my last session, ran a session, drove ~30 miles back to where my hotel was and had the 25 miles remaining chime come on at ~1/4 tank. I got 4.7 mpg including the drive back to the gas station.

I figure ~4 mpg on track. I was using nearly half a tank every 20-25 minutes of track time.

I've had it more than once in a long sweeper
