Valve stem sensors are much better, can be mounted and removed etc without taking the tire completely off. The ones on our 15's are super small/ Not big like the 2010-2014s. Plus with barrel mounted sensors if the band breaks you get the sensor rattling around in your tire

So I have zero experience with TPMS and this may seem like a dumb question, but how do you install these? I want to re-use the ones from my stock tires but I was wondering if my rims need to be dismounted in order to get the sensors off the stock tires. Can anyone throw me a bone here and help me out? Thanks.

Old tires must be deflated. The sensors are part of the air valve and must be removed.

I was told that you can deflate & then just sort of push the tire out of the way in the area of the air valve rather than needing to pull the tires clear off. Might save a smidge on labor & wear & tear.

Yes that is what the shop did to transfer over my TPMS without removing the tire. Really was simple and quick and no extra charge

Yesterday, I ordered a set of 4 TPMS-35 sensors and a training tool for $119.95 from Late model restorations. They claim delivery during the first week of April. I figured the price isn't bad, and the delivery is most likely better than Ford. The sales guy told me they now have 40 sets on order from their supplier! I guess a lot of folks put on different wheels with these cars.......

My research into this has been extensive. The problem with using the 10-14 sensors is they will never read out the air pressure, and it seems to be hit and miss as to which cars it will even keep the warning light off. Earlier production models seem to "accept" the sensors-as far as keeping the light off, but somewhere around the middle of October Ford changed something, and the earlier style sensors quit working entirely. If you want your system to preform as designed, TPMS-35 is the only choice. Luckily, the aftermarket seems to be gearing up fairly quickly on this situation.

I am really shocked that ford STILL has not released these. I mean they use them in every single car they produce, so they have already been made. I called my dealer yesterday and he said ford is still saying a month out. When I called in Nov after I got my car, ford was saying January. Very disappointing. The ford price is 18.95 per tire, so it sucks that I will need to spend a crapload more for aftermarket ones. Hoping they hit soon as I probably have 3-4 weeks before I need to change over to my summer setup.

I just placed an order through ford parts. They came out to $79 shipped. Figured it was a better shot than just working with my dealer, as it should ship from any dealer that has stock. Hope they FINALLY get released this month.

The wait for these is driving me mad. I am trying to get my summer setup squared away and I cant get tires mounted because I have NO MONITORS! Really frustrating. Anyone have any OEMS they want to sell?

Can somebody educate me on the TPMS?

Is the training tool the item that gets the car electronics to recognize the four TPMS's sensor output?
Can you buy just the training tool that is compatible with 2015 computer or is it something built into the car's computer?

Last question
If you buy tires that are a different diameter than the OEM tires, can you buy something that will tell the computer the new diameter or is that something that has to go to the dealer to get done?

I just got 4 2015 Mustang tpms sensors from American Muscle for $24.95 each. They are made in Taiwan but seam to be nice quality.
