Since I don't have my "wheels", I did get a GT350 wheel a few weeks ago. Got my dye pen today. Started working on this little tedious project so it will match my redline interior. The color is essentially a perfect match. I think this will be a perfect compliment to my interior.
I considered doing this the other day instead of waiting for a red stitching one. Now that I see how well yours is turning out I might just pull the trigger on the 350 wheel soon.

It is not 100% perfect but you will be hard pressed to fine the issues without shining an LED flashlight on it. The steering wheel is not something that people are going to critique and go over with a fine tooth comb, so I feel good about how it turned out.

Go for it. This is why I did it. As we still have no info on the R wheel and what will come of it.

the r wheel has white stitching, no place for steering wheel controls, and has a leather top.

its the gt 350 with the redline trim i believe that has the red stitching on the wheel

edit: actually i lied, maybe you can swap that blank plate with the volume and song controls...

Thanks. I'm loving the build!
Thanks man!!
Any updates for us?
My original tires are on national back order with no ETA insight from the Hankook rep. 305/35/20's seem to be as popular as any size tire in the world. At least in Michelin PSS or Hanook RS3 version 2's.

The only tires available in extreme performance in 285/35/20 and 305/35/20's are Goodyear F1 SUPERCAR G2's. These are OEM on the ZL1/1LE ans GT500 with the SVTPP.

Not my first choice but they will have to do as I cannot wait any longer for my wheels/tire package to be completed and shipped to me.

Picture of the new tires:

Todd, I am running 5mm universal spacers. Is there a reason to go with hub centric ones? Places like American Muscle, all they sell is universal in 5mm.

Honestly I am not an expert on this topic. I assume being hub centric they are a more precise fit for our car. These were recommended by many folks to go hub centric.

The advantage of running hubcentric spacers is that it eliminates the chance of any vibrations caused by throwing off the wheel balance.

Hubcentric = balanced wheel

Non-hubcentric = chance of inbalance and vibrations

With a 5mm spacer, do you think it makes a difference? I wonder why none of the big mustang places here, like AM, CJ Pony, Hypermotive, N4SM, don't sell hubcentric ones in that size.

The wheels have conical seats so hubcentric isn't as important for such a thin spacer. If you had a hubcentric wheel with flat lugs it would be a impossible to center the wheel. Does a 5mm even clear the hubcentric part of the mustang hub?

Yes, and if you read the reviews on AM you will see some people mention that it causes a slight vibration at certain speeds if not centered while mounting. It can be balanced but if you can, hubcentric is the way to go.

Thanks for the info. I wonder whats up with these companies selling wheels and not selling hubcentric spacers... I have universal ones on my car but it looks like I am going to buy the ebay ones just for the hell of it to see if I can tell a difference.

It doesn't really matter about the hubcentric rings who the actual manufacturer is. As long as you are buying the correct size and your wheel is being hubcentered that's the important part. Some wheels come with the bore the exact size and don't require rings.

Hey Todd. I'm from Elkton, just over the mountain from Charlottesville. First town over on 33.

What would you say is the #1 best suspension mod (besides springs) for less than $500, or cheapest possible, for the PP GT? You seem to have the whole compliment!
