Funny thing is I'm starting to feel that way about Ford too. I think other than the Mustang, I'm gonna stick with Toyota's. LOL
My local Ford dealers are WAAAAAAYYYYYYY better than my local Toyota dealer for warranty claims.

I remember when the GT350 came out how many engines had oil consumption issues and Ford replaced a lot of engines. Toyota tends to deny warranty on blown GR86 engines if you have any track or hard driving on the car. Unless you make a huge public stink and then MAYBE if enough people see you making a stink then possibly Toyota will cover it many months later after you already bought a new engine and paid for it to be swapped in.

And the Scooby flat fours have issues with losing oil pressure when you take a hard right hander (even with the stock tires). So people are losing main bearings in their cars. This is a pretty serious design flaw compared to what I've seen from Fords.

2 cents. The grass isn't always greener. I'm not taking my GR86 on track until the warranty is up and I've made some modifications.

I had no idea that Toyota was like that especially if one was within the warranty period. I'm not really familiar with Toyota in terms of performance motors. I was meaning that alot of my friends drive Camry's, Corolla's and Tacoma's, myself included. They range between new and north of 300k on the clock and none of them seem to have problems outside normal things as in batteries or maybe a coil on plug. Lol.

It's possible that the dealers act differently with cars that are actually built by Toyota, but I had an issue with my radio with about 10,000 miles on the car and the dealer acted like it might not be covered under warranty. They really discouraged me from even taking the car in.

I'm not sure what it is. Maybe Toyota is cheap and doesn't pay the dealers enough for warranty work. That might be a reason why the dealers don't want to do it.

No idea, but the local Ford dealers are super friendly and accommodating. Don't get me wrong, the tech people at Toyota seemed really good when I was getting the free service appointments. I just had a bad experience when I called with a problem.

My experiences with Ford dealing with warranties have been 50/50 I suppose. The 50 percent in not a good way is enough to steer me away from them for anymore future purchases. I might would have been interested in the 7th Gen mustang but the interior completely shot that down for me. LOL

I didn't care about the interior, but the manual transmission gearing, direct injection and extremely high prices are what dissuade me.

Edit: to be fair, I do care a little about the lack of physical controls and the electronic brake booster is a big concern. But the above reasons kept me out of new Mustangs since 2019 when I was selling my Z06 and looking for another Mustang.

I've actually been surprised the cost is lower than what I thought they'd be. I seen a few at the dealerships around here. Even a DH for 60k something. Now weather or not it has an adm attached to it, I don't know.

All brands have units that go 300k or more. I've had many a Dodge and Jeep product go 300k plus with no issues. You never hear of the good, only the bad.
Toyota dealers don't have those big service dept's just doing oil changes.

That makes sense. I do hear horror stories about each brand from friends that own them. Although I agree with what ur saying, I never hear of anybody I know with a Toyota say anything bad. LOL. I hope Ford at some point in time goes back to more of a S550 because I would like to buy another new Mustang one day. LOL

V8 cams breaking, never heard about that?
or the corrolla/tercel oil caking/sludge issues?
Truck frames rotting ?
The vehicles going full throttle on their own, hint Toyota was forced to admit it was fact after trashing peoples lives.
Toyota has a good marketing team, nothing more.
They have you fooled so it worked.

It did work! My daily driver (2014 Toyota Corolla) blows ice cold ac and gets 31 mpg in the city. Only maintenance is Mobil 1 with a Toyota filter every 5k miles. So I'm happily fooled by them. Oh yeah, $36 to fill it up from empty for ethanol free gas. 👍

To be fair, the big3 laid the ground work for decades to get the buyer pool there.
Yes to a point, but the imports were trash back then also, just cheaper to buy trash.

Some act like the toyota techs are like the Maytag repair man ad, with nothing to fix.
Reality is often disappoining .
