I went through this on my 2013 Camaro SS multiple complaints of driveline vibration and finally after warranty is done they say there’s a problem. Wouldn’t cover shit. I was pissed and decided not to go down the rabbit hole with my money traded it on my 19 GT and never looked back. F@ck GM for life….

To late to join the MT82 lawsuit. That ship sailed a few years ago.

Maybe the crybaby haters here can whine about how thats the dealerships fault as well. 🤣 🤣

Funny thing is I'm starting to feel that way about Ford too. I think other than the Mustang, I'm gonna stick with Toyota's. LOL

Absolutely. Any car maker out there can put together a vehicle that has problems. I've had good experiences with my Fords, Rams, Toyotas, and yes even Nissans. And I've had problems with them too.

Now my son is fighting a battle over the steering in his brand new Silverado 2500. Problem started at 500 miles and now there's 2000 miles on the truck and he's made 5 trips to dealership service department with no remedy.

It can happen with any of them.

Hopefully OP can get satisfaction either through warranty or a fair price on a real repair.

Stories like that about what ur son is going through is so asinine to me. Almost as if ASE certified mechanics are incompetent. No way should a steering issue on a brand new truck go 1500 miles with no remedy.

Agreed.

I don't want to pull this thread further off topic, but quickly: he pulls a travel trailer with it, so he's even more concerned. So far the parts cannon hasn't worked well, so we'll see what happens next. He's ready to talk to an attorney over it.

OP may want to do the same, just to see what an attorney with experience in this area has to say.

I really do think the op has a fighting chance because it's documented before the warranty ran out. Also that it's been in service twice for the same issue.

I think the two instances are different.
You son's issue is safety related, and he has had it back 5 times without resolution. I think you'll find that falls under the lemon law in most states. People can start lemon law proceedings without an attorney.

The OP may have a harder time. He only took it in twice, two years apart. That doesn't seem to have a great deal of concern behind it. If you were truly concerned wouldn't you push a little harder than waiting two years until your warranty was about to expire? Hiring an attorney may get the dealer to listen but it may not. I'd not spend money on an attorney when, at this point, it could probably be better spent at a trusted local mechanic who's more likely to listen.

Yeah those are good points. Guess at this point throw a tremec in it. LOL. I would still at least talk to the Ford customer relations department and see if they'll do anything about it.

It's such crap. Doesn’t seem to matter what country your in a lot of Ford dealers are the same.
Like there doing us a favour letting us drive there cars. Now stop bothering me.
We've paid a lot for our cars. We should expect the service to come with it.
I really like my mustang and I'll probably have it a long time, but I'll never buy another ford, any ford after the poor service I've received.

Ford Customer Care was no help. One person told me they’d keep my ticket open and escalate it, and would contact me back. Never heard back, tried to call several times and that rep wasn’t available.

Talked to a second rep, they told me they don’t keep tickets open and the original rep closed it same day. Said it’s “a dealership issue” and they recommend me to schedule a new service appointment and call them when it’s at the dealership. Why, so I can pay to have them drop the transmission only to be told to go pound sand?

Freaking disappointment.

Same issue here. Had my car in at 3 different dealers and they all said the same thing "nothing is wrong, it's normal". This was all during the warranty period. Ford customer care was no help at all. I got so frustrated I gave up.

Luckily I bought an extended warranty with the car. I took it to an independent transmission shop after the warranty expired and after teardown I needed a couple gears and multiple internal parts. The guy showed me all the parts that were replaced and told me there's no way it was "normal" when the dealers diagnosed it. I took the parts back to one of the dealers to prove a point and got blown off because; here's the way they get out of it.... There was no record of my car being there. I was never charged for the diagnosis and there was never any paperwork to prove I had the car there during the warranty period. Same thing with the other dealers.

I love this car but sad to say, this is likely the last Ford I will ever buy solely because of the crappy warranty service.

Yeah. A big red flag was that they couldn’t see any services on the car. So neither time was it logged in the system. I thought that was BS. Reading your experience, this must be what they’re taught to do.

I’m over it and over buying cars. Just glad I have this GT and plan to hopefully keep it for the long run. A take-off replacement can be found for a decent deal sometimes, or better yet just having it build for future power.

Sorry to hear about your experience as well. It’s really disappointing.

Thanks. It's sad that these are not unique experiences.

He has precedence of 2 prior Ford dealership service visits for the issue, while under warranty. With no resolution.
I can work with that as leverage when talking to Ford, & both previous dealerships.

Nobody can achieve anything without trying. More specifically, asking.

The real key is to not show even a sliver of sarcasm, anger, frustration towards them.
Ive tried to explain this entire concept in detail SEVERAL TIMES HERE, on more than 1 post before, but its just different people with the same crappy attitudes.

We use the techniques we preach. Because of that, we buy desired cars a ridiculously low prices new. Including our loaded Bullit, & our '22 GT500 we ordered New. Both purchased well below MSRP.

I've tried to teach people these techniques, & perhaps a few listen. Most just keep slingin the bad attitudes. That's a quick way to lose on anything you do in life.
Sometimes you have to throw out being nice and being a rug for them to walk on.
Yes be nice BUT FIRM.
Many dealership service managers are a-holes to anyone with warranty work, as if the job is taking money out of their wallet. These actions do talk money out as the customer goes elsewhere and might not buy that brand again.
FORD along with many others need to push customer service over sales with the service manager. Cuz frankly good customer service will bring in all the work your shop can handle and then some .
