First I didn't bring up redline on a public road. I just think it's not as practical as some say it is.

Second, apparently my Gt350 isn't made for the track. But that's another thread.
Are you guys serious? I am not suggesting you break the Law...but why buy the GT350 if you are not run it through it's paces? I have redlined mine 1, 2, 3, and 5,000 in 4th then I to run home & change my shorts! Happy Motoring!

1st issue. trans overheating on the street..on my own to fix that.

2nd issue. Paint and body. So far been at the dealer for over 2 weeks correcting what looks like gravel or rocks under the paint. rear bumper sagging. Dealer tried over a week trying to get ford to warranty it.

I like to disassemble things.
Wasn't happy with the lame audio system that '15/'16 Track Pack cars were stuck with. Grabbed the bull by the horns and put the call in to Jesse at OEMRadio. Made the swap to an 8" screen with Sync 3 with Android Auto, navigation, satellite and HD radio. Night and day. Install writeup at SVTP.

Do they have anyway to add HD radio to the sync 3 tech radio?

How does the climate control work? This is on my list
I can manipulate it via the buttons/dials on the bezel face or through the touchscreen. When using the screen you see two zones but only one zone will work as the car never came with dual zone control.

While I don't mind the clutch action and weight, I'm finding the clutch travel too long for crisp heel and toe double declutch downshifts. I took my Audi out the other day and it's a piece of cake! Nothing like shifting from 5th to 2nd with a perfectly executed HTDD and feeling the shifter slide into gear with nearly zero effort! Heel and toe with the GT350 is fine, though.

You only hit ~52 MPH in first if you wind the motor out. Any ramp to an Interstate can accommodate. I could care less about the stereo as I'd rather listen to the engine. Engine prop rod is a PITA but easily fixed. The 17 sill plates are crap, again, easy to swap with a 16 sill pate.

My main complaint is the intense tramlining. I had a street alignment, under body braces but nothing helps. It's not a fatal flaw unless you don't pay attention. The other concern is the OPG gear. They really should have used a forged gear.

All that said, this is my favorite car to data.

Agreed. The rest is trivial. The OPG gear is a flaw waiting to rear its ugly head. Why the hell would anyone cut such corners?

And what A PITA to replace it.

Agree on the OPG. It's like the IMS issue on Porsche 996 and 997.1. When it goes its like hitting the reverse lottery.

Me crazy, and I can't help myself
Now that i have about 800 miles on the car i feel like i can make a comment, i will preface it by saying that this car overall is fantastic, the gripes i have are small and certainly not enough to make me regret buying the car or from recommending it to someone else but the car is so close to being perfect for me only a couple of things stand in its way.

1. Steering wheel, the hoop of the wheel i'd like if it was thicker, for me the e92 M3 had the perfect steering wheel. As soon as you get in the car and you grabbed it you instantly realize something is different. While i have gotten used to the steering wheel as it is, would love it a bit thicker

2. Stereo, while i agree the best stereo is the FPC rung out to 8 grand, when I'm on a long trip in 6th gear i like to listen to tunes and the sound from this stereo is very thin. I get that you don't want to add in heavy subs to a track car but even my wife's SUV has a richer sound quality than this car. They can do better without adding unnecessary weight

3. Paint/Body work finish - Not going to beat a dead horse, we all know the shortcomings.

4. Interior Quality. First i will say that this has come along way. Personally the interior quality kept me from buying a previous generation Mustang, while the new interior has made strides by leaps and bounds they still have room for improvement. You only need to go as far as looking in other new ford cars (fusions, Taurus, Explorer, F150), not sure why the mustangs got the short end of the stick

5. 2017 "Ford Performance" badging... the new logo's on the strut tower brace and door sill's aren't cool. Ford needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with a better logo for their performance division. As written it looks cheap and cheesy

Interesting. Most of the things you mentioned don't bother me at all or don't apply to my car.

1. I love the steering wheel, the thickness if fine for me. I actually think some of the BMW M wheels are too fat.

2. I'm in the don't give a dang about stereos club. I'm perfectly happy with my Track Pack's base stereo system. If I were to order an R, I'd want it stripped of the the stereo, A/C and backseat, to be as light and raw as possible.

3. The paint is absolutely beautiful on my car. It has a depth and finish that I'd surprisingly rate even better than some of the cars that I've owned in the past. And these cars included Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Audi.

Body panel fitment is ok on mine, nothing that really bothers me, with the exception of the rear bumper gap that all these cars seem to have. But even that doesn't bother me unless I dwell on it.

4. Agree that the interior materials could be better. But it feels racy to me and I have no issues with the fitment quality with my interior. Absolutely love the Recaro seats!

5. Agree about the Ford Performance badges on the '17s. It's actually one of the minor reasons I pulled the trigger on a very late build '16 model, I prefer the 15/16 GT350 door sills and strut tower emblem over the '17's Ford Performance logos.

Probably because there hasn't been for decades.
