Try not to overthink the FPC possibility. We can only assume our trusted Ford engineers are searching for the most effective /efficient means of giving the new halo car the performance we expect.
There has always been multiple roads to the same destination, some more extreme than others. The FPC may lead the pack of mustangs soon, or it may be cast aside as not being what the engineers intended.
Whatever the means need be, the outcome will be the same. And we will all be pleased.

I figure stability issues arise due to the shear size of the engine. A 5.2 liter V8 is huge...

I would like to see a PTWA'd Coyote to 5.4/5.5 and maybe a small bore V8 Coyote (4.4-4.7).

that'll do it. I feel like they could see 8k out of a coyote easy, why they want to push it that high is beyond me, but it is fucking cool. If this platform is as capable as it seems, a one-off short production run (2000 a year for 2 years?) ZR1/Ferarri killer with a FPC and 8500rpm would be fucking cool

All the tap dancing in this thread is very confusing. It sounds like the voodoo is still in early stages of testing. If that's true, then what motor is in that SVT prototype? I'm assuming whatever car that is, it's going to be announced within the next 6 months or so. If the trinity line is down, then that leaves..... what?

There is at least one prototype svt car running around. That would be the "ferarri" sounding one I mentioned a while back.

Not trying to derail any further: :threadjacked: but I missed something on my initial read of the article I linked. It states that they used the same turbos that are on the EcoBoost motors, but this little detail in the article seems to debunk that.....titanium aluminide (Gamma-Ti) turbine wheels. This is used on EFR turbos. So maybe the CJ actually has my dream motor......:hail:

You mean Ford will have another new Sport car model? That's not the Mustang? Like the super car ? That would be cool.

Ford CEO Alan Mulally said some time ago, that going forward, Ford would focus soley on turbo-charging, for FI engines. Ecoboost is the future, for Ford.

Probably because He understands superchargers are inefficient.

Most likely, the 3.7 twin-turbo V6 will be in the SVT. So, those backyard mechanics will be the ones putz'ing around with blowers.

He was mocking that more horsepower means very little at the track... if the car is unbalanced, doesn't handle and is a pig.

Going fast in a strait line isn't what many people want, aspire to do. They want a real car, that can handle a real track... and the recent BOSS's illustrated Ford can design such a beast.

Most people should take driving lessons, than seek an extra 100hp out of their new Mustangs. Driving fast in a strait line is for people who don't have a car that can handle.

    In 2015, you do...

BTW, the GT500 is easily out-handled by a BOSS around the track. With the new S550 chassis, horsepower will mean very little, unless you are into bragging & bravado...
