I guess it's cool for the bling and brag factor, but honest, how often do you stare at instead of the road? If you've driven your car for any amount of time, you eventually know the sound and gear, perhaps quickly glancing down when a cop is near, yeah? It's your money, your car, ultimately. If that extra money makes you feel good about yourself, then go for it.

I prefer the analog dash, but having seen the digital dash and the customization you can do with it, it's actually really good. One of the best I've seen in the industry. Don't blame the guy for wanting it.

The digital dash is really cool. I change the look, functions and colors regularly. But, if you have never had it, you will probably live without it.
Yeah, that's a good point, I went from a '16 to a '19 with the DD, so it was a pretty notable change for me (and it was actually a "requirement" for my upgrade), but if I hadn't come from another S550, it would've been less of a thing.

It is pretty awesome, love all the additional info it displays, the adaptive UI based on mode, the ability to change the colors, layout, etc.

I have it only because it was the only way to get the heated wheel. I could have lived without it and the balance of the premium interior package, but I promised myself the next car would have a heated wheel, come hell or high water!

Shit dont blame you. A cold steering wheel sucks. I used to leave up north and hated every morning. From the cold steering wheel until the cabin hot warm enough that I could finally feel my feet

This is something I thought I didn't need until I drove my dad's Genesis g80. The heated wheel and the heads up display are two things I wish I had. Everything else, though, I don't care for.

Actually, I'd take a quality HUD over the digital dash any day (Genesis does a really nice job with theirs, it's so cool). The DD is really cool (I thought I'd regret not having it) but after seeing the HUD on the g80 I don't really care. The DD is cool but more of a gimmick. The HUD is really cool and actually has legitimate function beyond just being pretty. I hope aftermarket tech can catch up someday.

Right now there’s basically no mustangs so they’re going expensive. That 19 with 50k miles is way overpriced. When the market was normal for 35k you could get a premium with digital dash and maybe 10000 miles on it. It shouldn’t take too long for the market to go back down with hertz filing for bankruptcy. In fact I’ve already seen a lot of their cars on the market so it should bring prices down.

Shouldn't have problem finding 2020 new GT Premium for $33K. You may have to give up digital gauges, PP and stick to baseline GT Premium. Look inventory in other states. I went to Maryland to buy my GT Premium and drove back home to Montgomery, AL.

Just find the best deal on a car you can and then spend the 1700 on the DD upgrade.

FWIW it may be a good idea to test drive a car with the DD to see how you like it... I did a couple months ago and actually did not care for it, to me the viewing angle was less comfortable than the analog gages. It's definitely a cool feature and probably 9 out of 10 people would prefer it, but I'm in the 1 of 10 group who don't. Especially when you take cost into account. Kind of like the Recaro seats (or anything else, really) - most people love it, a very small part of the population doesn't.

I was the same way, I "settled" for a 400a with PP1, then purchased all of the parts and did it myself. It was around $1K and took a little bit of searching, but it was totally worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

It looks great, and I find myself changing the stlye on it all the time.

I test drove a couple of cars with the DD and yes, it's a nice little feature. Of course, as a occasional/weekend/track car, I let the budget determine my needs and didn't bother with any options. If it was my DD, it would be easier to justify the extra $2K. But as others have noted, you'll generally end up with a high optioned car and you may not want all of that other stuff.

Yeah maybe I went a little over board but dang I like it.

LOL, you think?

Yeah, it's overboard, but that's a great looking bunch of screens!

If you're willing to shop around for the parts and wait for a used cluster to pop up on eBay, you can piece the digital cluster upgrade together for much less than the $2200+ that aftermarket companies sell kits for.

I spent less than $1300 on mine all-in. You can program it yourself, follow the guide here.

Agree with above...

The digital clusters can even be retrofitted to the 2015’s, so just get the S550 you like and do a swap.

I went from a 2015 GT with the analog, to a 2020 with the DD. To be honest, I really didn't care about the DD. Now having had the car for 5 months, I would never touch a Mustang without a DD. It simply is that good. I'm always changing the colors etc as it gives the car a fresh take every time I sit in it. Ford knocked it out of the park with the DD. It's worth it's weight in gold no matter how you get it. Either stock or adding it afterwords. It's a badass piece of equipment.

I bought mine a year old as a Ford exec driven car with 10k miles on it. Has the DD, which came in the package with the heated steering wheel. Love both, especially on cold winter mornings!
