I bought mine a year old as a Ford exec driven car with 10k miles on it. Has the DD, which came in the package with the heated steering wheel. Love both, especially on cold winter mornings!
Yeah, that's a good point if the Digital Dash was a standalone option that would be one thing, but since it's wrapped up into the 401a, there's a ton of nice improvements, additional features, etc., that you get:

12" LCD Digital Instrument Cluster
Heated Steering Wheel
Premier Trim
FordPass Connect
Memory Driver Seat (three (3) settings), Mirrors and Ambient Lighting Pre-Set

(there's other's just a few highlights)

On on '19+ they moved a couple of smart and safe features into the 401a:

BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert

That's a lot of goodies for the price.

Just find the best deal on a car you can and then spend the 1700 on the DD upgrade.
Which steering wheel is that? It looks nice.

If you have your heart set on it, keep searching and get what you really want.

In my case I only wanted 2 options because I knew I'd tear a bunch of $hit out anyways. #trackcar

If I were to do a street bruiser I would do one with all the options too.

Good Luck OP! :like:

IMO, once the new-ness wears off after a couple of months, you won't really care, but I get it...

I prefer the analog gauges.

However, if it's what you want, you'll be pissed if you don't get it.

The question is, do you really want it? There's a lot of other great options you could get rather than the DD, and have a better driving car.

I put the DD in my '17 GT. Aside from the screen itslef, and the way it adds to a much more modern look, I like how the Nav is running in the middel of the screen. And love how easy it is to dump current route with the buttons on the wheel.

For a V8 Mustang, I guess partly for nostalgia, and to have it while I still could, I wanted:
* Analog gauges
* Third pedal
* Parking brake lever

I.e. I want it to be "car", I guess in the traditional sense. In the future my driverless personal transport will have a digital dash and electronic everything and be silent and sterile and devoid of any sensory feedback or any tactile controls to operate. And I'll be okay with that then. But for now...

(The only thing really I'm missing with this car is feeling the motor vibrations coming up thru the stick like in my '01 GT. That was pretty cool.)

Basically, if 400A wasn't the only way to get tan seats, I would've gotten the 301A. I changed my ambient color once, so to me money's better spent on the MagneRide and Active Exhaust options, which I really love.

Digital dash was a must have for me. As I did not want a new modern car with old timey analog gauges and a little screen stuck between them. I actually love difital dash so much a made the whole dash digital LOL. Yeah maybe I went a little over board but dang I like it. Trust me if you want the 401a package dont settle for less or you will regret it.

Thanks guys for all the valuable comments.
My search continues. I am in GA. If you know anyone in GA or nearby states...who has a 2019 GT 401a for sale, do let me know. Worst case I will have to settle for 301 and then get the DD upgrade (although I would prefer factory installed).

I searched just like you did for the digital dash. Worth every penny in my opinion. Don't settle until you find exactly what you want. I missed out on another package I should have gotten but it isn't the end of the world but I would try to get the dash if I could.
