Somewhere in deep detroit the traffic levels.on the snitch line take an unexplained lower baseline. A panicked call is made.to Pinkerton HQ, "boss, the people are getting wise to our spying. How are we gonna make out revenue targets if the undisclosed fees to insurance companies goes down".

"Just be glad the people are only pulling fuses instead of our fingernails and nailing our corpses to the Ford HQ building and the walls of the CEO compound."

Inside the trunk, right behind the the drivers side tail light.
For some reason I was under the impression it was behind the bumper cover. That module is getting pulled today.

The Telematics Control Unit (TCU) is in the trunk, for protection from the elements. It is connected to and uses the cell antennas in the left and right rear bumper sections for FordPass and Telematics.

Telematics is highlighted in Page 14 of the attached.

Thanks for the addition to my Ford PDF Library. A most welcome compilation!

Dumb question.
If I do this mod, and later forget where I parked, can I still find my car via the Ford Pass app?
No.
the ford pass app is what Ford gives you in exchange for its unlimited snooping.

That's what I thought.

I suppose I could pull the fuse until I go on vacation. (Some years ago I DID forget where I parked when in Charleston. Everything looked too much the same on the long walk back from downtown. And that was in my 2016 which did not have a modem or Ford Pass.)

Lol, I’ve almost done the same thing. Now I just snap a pic of the car with something that’s not going to move in the background like a building. If I’m parked on the street I try to get a street sigh in the pic.
