Telematics Control Unit in 2016 Mustang??

Did the 2016 Mustang come with or have an option for the Telematics Control Unit? If so where was it mounted? Where was the PIFA antenna mounted for it as well? If not, where was it located on the 2017/2018? I added this to my F150 via the thread there and am wanting to do the same with my Mustang.

Well, the TCU and PFIA are MIA with the TBD, and not to be confused with the PITA.

Are you really asking if Mustangs came with a tracking system and/or GPS?

Here is the example. My 17 F150 did not come with Sync3. I added this first. I then followed the f150 forum instructions on how to add the telematics control unit to use the phone app to lock/unlock, remote start, tire pressure monitoring, oil life etc. It also sends a message to my phone that tells me when the truck has been hit or bumped. I want to add this unit on the Mustang I just got as I would like those features on my phone via FordPass app (SyncConnect). The module itself is easy to program but I am not sure where it was mounted in the vehicle along with the PITA antenna (always want to call it PIFA). I have a 16 Mustang Convertible EcoBoost Premium that has Sync3. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry Paul, there are a few threads about disabling FordPass Connect but I’ve never seen one asking about adding it. Actually one of those posts might help you as they go into great detail about the antennas etc.

Just FYI, for whatever reason the 2019 Bullitt did not come with the modem (although the advertising said it did). There is also a major thread on here about it. Owners were bitching left & right. Many wanted to add the modem but were told by Ford that because of the way it was designed it was not possible.
