BTW, every time I see your name on here part of me wants to ask if you're AnalogMike of Analog.Man guitar pedals fame (analogmike_piera on Instagram), but he's more of a Porsche guy and lives in CT. I own one of his SunFace fuzz pedals and it's DIVINE.
LOL, I wish! Unfortunately that’s not me. My screen name simply reflects that I’m old-school and prefer archaic, classic things like manual transmissions.

I do listen to music from vacuum-tube amplifiers, but unfortunately, couldn’t play a guitar to save my life.

HU5T is an engineering number prefix
HU5Z is an actual part number prefix

What is the complete HU5T part number printed on the part?

Hey guys I've tried to find answers about the issues I'm having with my 4-8 inch Sync 3 swap and haven't had much success. Everything appears to be working apart from the Steering Wheel buttons for audio control (volume, track selection, mute, phone accept/decline...etc).

Notes:
I have installed all components as mentioned on Page 1 by @HextallS550 & changed the following in FORScan:

1654377117674.png

1654376964538.png

1654376983482.png

1654376991503.png

1654376997298.png

Model:
Ecoboost (Base model) 2017
Sync 3 Version: 2.0 (This will be updated)

Errors:
B119F - GPS Antenna
(NOTE: I installed the GPS antenna on a non-NAV unit as in the future I will replace with NAV APIM. I assume plugging in the antenna into non-NAV caused this error).

B11BA - Steering Wheel Audio Switch Pack
(NOTE: This error disappeared when I reset the DTC, however, the steering wheel controls for radio are still not functioning).

U0184 - Lost Communication With Radio

B1A64 - Left Solar Sensor

B1A63 - Right Solar Sensor

B10B5 - Left Panel Air Discharge Temperature

B10B6 - Left Floor Air Discharge Temperature

B11E6 - Right HVAC Damper Position Sensor

(NOTE: This occurred after I used AS-BUILT values from a 2017 Premium Ecoboost for the FCIM in the hopes of resolving the wheel steering audio controls, but it didn't work. I reverted to the previous AS-BUILT values for FCIM, however this error resulted).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm not sure what to do with regards to B11BA & the other errors as I'm not a professional at this.

I’m not sure where that data came from, but it’s incorrect and the antenna you’re using is probably the cheap Chinese antenna.
I’ll say this again; Harness By Hextall LLC is the only Sync 3.4 conversion specialist with Roush & Ford employees. Our kits are the closest that you will ever get to an official swap from Ford.

Freedom Source: Look at the thread on this forum entitled "Can You Retrofit the Sync 3 System in a 2015 Mustang GT?" Look at the cheat sheet posted by STANGV6 that starts on page 7 of that thread. Also look at the F-150 spreadsheet. Search the web for F-150 Forscan spreadsheet. Both give lots of FORSCAN changes that I used. I have been unable to clear the solar sensor codes (and perhaps the damper/discharge codes), I'm told due to an incompatibility with the solar sensor themselves that will require replacement and likely wiring changes and not having dual controls on a base model (but I haven't given up yet). As for the the lost comm with radio DTC I was able to clear with turning off sat radio (7D0-01-01, )0xx xxx xxx (change 1st digit to 0). I didn't encounter the steering control problems. For that , look at similar vehicles as built data on the ford website (search "motorcraft as built" on the web) get VIN numbers for comparison from used car dealer webpages for similar cars. I save my data before changing and also take photos with my phone of the module data as a back up--and its very handy for troubleshooting). PM me if you want to brainstorm. J

UPDATE: Thank you @KKJMG ! Your suggestions have helped big time! I did not see those forum other two forum threads before, the FORScan info they had was great.

Fixed:
U0184
- Lost Communication With Radio
B10B5 - Left Panel Air Discharge Temperature
B10B6 - Left Floor Air Discharge Temperature
B11E6 - Right HVAC Damper Position Sensor

Still Broken:
B119F
- GPS Antenna (As @HextallS550 mentioned, this is probably caused by crappy Chinese component + the fact that my APIM is a Non-Navigation unit).
B1A64 - Left Solar Sensor (Common issue can be ignored).
B1A63 - Right Solar Sensor (Common issue can be ignored).

SUMMARY:
I'll PM you ( @KKJMG ) as I have no idea how to solve the steering wheel audio controls, it's possible it could be a wiring issue with my harness which I can inspect. Do we know which pins transfer the inputs from steering wheel controls to APIM module? I'm no expert but I have a feeling since the error B11BA for Steering Wheel Audio Switch Pack has disappeared but the non functioning button problem still exists that it may be a hardware issue with my Sync 1 to Sync 3 harness?

SETTINGS LIST USED:
Base Model Ecoboost 2017, No Sirius, Non-perfomance pack, Automatic.

@FreedomSOURCE

Your antenna issue has nothing to do with whether or not you have NAV. Running an antenna that’s not functioning is effecting other areas of your vehicle. That signal is used in several other modules which is why ALL Mustangs since 2015 have a GPS antenna regardless of whether or not the car has Sync 3 or factory navigation.

The issues with the bezel aren’t related to as-built data. They’re hardware and calibration differences that only software from VIS can fix.

The data I see has several incorrect values. Unfortunately, I can not distribute configuration (as-built) data in the same vane that I can’t give out details on Gen IV Coyote or S650. It’s against Roush policy.

We flash modules with the actual Ford software for our customers. Apologies if that’s not what folks want to hear. We’ve already had enough problems with people stealing designs and information and I’m not risking my career to make $50 selling data.

Thanks for the PM & call @HextallS550 it was much appreciated!

For those who are reading through the forum:
- GPS Antenna purchased is faulty and will be replaced.
- Cheap Chinese wiring harness is causing Steering Wheel Audio controls not to work.
- The FORSCan AS-BUILT data has activated & allowed everything I need to work in SYNC 3 + drive modes..etc. However, is not 100% correct.

FWIW, I did the swap on my 2015 GT using the Sync3 kit supplied by Hextall, and everything works perfectly - steering wheel controls, CarPlay, everything.

There were some initial setup and configuration hiccups with my iPhone and CarPlay, but after figuring that out it all works perfectly, exactly like a factory setup.

YMMV, but I’d suggest forgetting about trying to save a couple of bucks and instead spare the headaches and just buy the complete kit from Hextall. He’s figured it all out and sourced and assembled all the right components so you don’t have to.

Hi all, I did the base to sync 3 swap on my 16 GT and everything seems to work except the damn start button. I can’t turn on accessory mode or start the car. Anyone else have this problem?
