Hey guys,

Next weekend my Steeda H Pipe is going to be installed on my 2020 PP2 w/ AE. But had a question.

I’ve read a few posts about exhaust sag once installed? Only a few times (so just hoping it was simply installation error stories). Now, if this is an issue, is there a hanger or support that can be used?

One more question. To clamp or to weld. Clamping is going to be easier for us, but welding isn’t out of the question. Is clamping a problem?

Thanks

Nice car and colour :sunglasses:
I've heard the same reports, but some guys if they've had this issue, they've just gone back post-install and readjusted the clamps and mufflers, and re-tightened, and it was all good after.

That may work short term, but the supplied clamps are super thin and just won’t last well long term IMO.

Yes, good point, and to your earlier post, worth the effort to find new/upgraded clamps. I've seen a few instances where guys readjusted on the supplied clamps and they were find after, but better clamps would almost guarantee a fix.

Use an impact wrench when tightening the band clamps and push or jack the exhaust up a little higher than it needs to bee when you tighten them. Should eliminate any sag in the pipes.

I had the same issue with a ford racing x-pipe. Bought better clamps from amazon and jacked up the x pipe before tightening and they have been fine for 3 years now.

Does anyone make clamps like that in 3 inch?

If 2.5 inch, why not just reuse the factory clamps. They are very good.

We're not talking about the factory clamps, those get reused. When you install an x or h pipe you have to cut the factory pipes behind the resonator, so you then need to add a second set of clamps at the cut line. Those are the ones that cause issue.

OK, so the stock exhaust does not separate except for at the converter pipe?

I bought my car used and it already had an after market exhaust.

Yes, from the factory the exhaust is all welded and 1 piece from the convertors back.
