Hey
I tried the steeda clutch spring a while ago and although it made the clutch more linear it was killing my knee in traffic holding it down all the time and went back to stock.

the problem is the return of the clutch. It literally just springs your foot up.

are their any products or ideas to help slow the pedal down a bit?.

I was thinking of adding a spring to the pedal that tenses when you release the clutch to not make it so hard.

you guys have any experience with this ?.

thanks

Thanks Buddy
Not quite what I’m looking for though.

I was thinking of getting a spring like the attached photo and fitting it to the pedal and somewhere else so it causes tension when I release the clutch.

That is not how it works with springs...
Adding this to the Steeda spring is like choosing a stronger spring instead of the Steeda spring.

The only thing, that could do what you want is a damper, that has different behavior for bump and rebound.
Or maybe modifying the clutch master cylinder.

I would recommend to test the other, cheap springs from Sodemann before putting that much effort into it.

...and do the J&M clutch line, that's the most important mod for the whole clutch mechanism, not the spring.

@Mikepol2
I already tried to make this clear to him in 2023, but he didn't want to listen...
Will we both be able to change that this time?

Solved….
Thanks guys the problem was actually in the tune.
Yes the pedal is the same stiffness but the problem was the revs hanging too long. So changing gears the car surged because of the rpm’s and my foot was hurting trying to holding a specific spot on the clutch to not make it surge.

tuner changed something and also asked me to do a crank relearn with the clutch depressed.

all good
Smooth as silk now

thanks guys

The spring will still make you tired the next time you get stuck in a traffic jam.

Yeh
I’m thinking of a stiffer clutch spring.
Factory is 185lb looking for one around 220-230lb would help a lot.

You won't be able to install anything stronger than the OEM 185 lbs/in.
Your Steeda spring has 35 lbs/in.
It would make sense to use a spring force between OEM and Steeda (see the link above).

To press the clutch down yes it’s no problem.
the problem is the pedal return. It springs back up with some force

The heavy stock spring has caused the clutch pedal arm pivot welded sleeve to crack.
The best thing is to stretch out the Steeda spring (I have a post on this procedure on M6G years ago).
If stretching the spring isn’t a solution then I’d suggest hitting the squat rack.
