I'm curious to get some feedback on my Steeda camber plate install.

The shop that put them on said the least amount of negative camber they could get with the plates was -1.1 and -1.4. They said they had the plates as far out as they could go, and the plates were hitting the inside of the strut tower. 🤔

I had them equal out both sides to -1.4 which I realize is very close to factory spec and im good with that. But im curious why they couldn't be adjusted any further, since Steeda say you should be able to get 2-3 degrees of total camber adjustment.

I was thinking maybe they were installed incorrectly. But I can look throught the top of the towers and see the plates and upper brackets are oriented correctly (facing to the outside of the car). I also see drivers side strut is pushed out a good amount.

My car does have a 1" drop from the Steeda lowering springs, so maybe that's a factor here.

Has anyone else run into this or have thoughts on why I can't get less negative camber?

I'm not a suspension guru but why do you want LESS negative camber? Drag racing?
-1.0 vs -1.5? Is that what you're wanting?

You misunderstand. Im fine with the camber that I have now. My question is why are the plates not allowing for MORE adjustment as advertised by steeda. They should, in theory adjust to much less camber IF desired. Im trying to figure out if something was done incorrectly or if it's just the geometry of the M1 with sport springs.

Looking at your pictures you need a new shop. They don't know how to adjust camber plates.

EDIT

If that adjustment is equal side to side you either have camber bolts or severe crash damage.

Something is not right. Just guessing from many alignments your driver side camber should be close to 0 and your passenger side should be around -1.3

Take it somewhere else and have it looked at.

Here's pic's of my 2019GT. Steeda pro-active shock/struts and min drop springs (.5")
Can't find my alignment sheet but also close to factory IIRC. No crash damages. Original owner.

Speaking as someone with a non-HP car and Steeda camber plates installed, you will need to make the holes in the strut tower larger if you want the full range of adjustment from the plates.
Several members here have done it including myself, and there is even a tool sold by Steeda to cut the hole evenly.

Edit: I'm pretty this would be the case for any brand camber plates on a non-HP car, not just the Steeda. It's the that bolt on top that gets in the way.

Dude you either have an idiot for an alignment tech, camber bolts in the driver side or your car is jacked. Get it looked at.

There shouldn't be more than a mm or 3 difference side to side.

I installed the Steeda Camber Plates on Steeda Struts and Springs, and had full range of adjustment and could make the strut top slide and hit the outer and inner sides of the tower hole. This was when the suspension was unloaded. I initially set them in the exact center, then took to a shop for correct alignment.

You need a new shop.

Camber plates are to get more negative camber. Not get closer to zero camber.

Also, the photos you posted might be deceptive, but the strut bolt sure look very differently aligned within the hole. If your camber specs are the same side to side, then you need to consider getting your front cradle aligned.

Take a look at steedas strut tower cutting tool. It will allow greater adjustment. I used it for my car, it works great, and leaves a clean cut you can touch up with touch up paint and it looks stock.

I'm going to take it to a different shop for eval. This place I went to was highly recommend for performance alignments, but my experience was a nightmare. I went back times and was basically told we know what were doing and its your plates. I can tell just by looking at the wheels head on the camber isn't equal on both sides.

Where ever you take it next make sure they know the rear camber is adjustable on these cars too. If they say it is not, they don't know s550 mustangs.
