So before I purchased the car I noticed the passenger side of the spoiler had a gap. I mentioned it to the dealership before I purchase it and they pulled the whole spoiler off to fix the issue and reapply what looks like double sided tape to the furthest part out of said spoiler. It was mainly because I heard what sounded like a nut loose in the deck lid. Fast forward to a month ago, it looked like the same passenger side nut came loose. Turning into i believe falling off and being stuck in the decklid itself. Well yesterday I was doing a deep clean of all the areas that get dirty , door jambs, around the liner on the hood, engine, rear deck lid, etc. I had been getting a rattle which i believed was probably the nut falling off again. Well low and behold I think it actually made its way out of the decklid somehow and fell into the trunk. I don't get a rattle noise now when opening the trunk. I just wanted to make sure that's where it came from. I'll take a picture to showing below.

My question is, seeing nits a nylock nut, should I just remove the rear decklid stuff off and put it back on with some threadlocker? It looks like the drivers side has also come loose as I can see threads when I look at my spoiler. I don't want to rip the threaded price out of the spoiler, sonim not sure what to do about it?

Those nylock nuts were not tight at all in my car. Found that when I did the gt350 spoiler. I wouldn't use threadlocker, just do a better job at tightening than the factory. But not too tight.

So you think i should just throw the nut back on and tighten down as usual and not apply any thing else? I'm actually suprised that the nut finally came out of the rear deck. Ive gotta inspect the driver side nut, as the spoiler has shifted and I can see threads on both sides.

That's what i would try to do, and keep and close eye on them for a while.

I don't think threadlocker will work on a nyloc nut.
You can do what's been suggested and reinstall the existing nuts and tighten them down.
Or go to the hardware store and get enough new ones to replace them all.
I think I would get new nuts but the trunk lid liner is not too difficult to R&R so trying the existing ones is easy and no cost.

A little blue threadlocker will be fine, and of course it will work with a nyloc

The nylocs wear out if removed and reused more than a few times, so prefer new ones.

Since the tape can deform, they’re using the nyloc to keep it from backing off too far with what is always going to probably be a kind of loose fit.

Anyway a new nyloc with some blue threadlocker and a good snug fit should hold for a long time. Dont over tighten or you WILL deform your trunk lid. Its pretty thin in most places.

Thanks for all the info. Im probably gonna take a look at it this weekend after I put the car up for winter.

While checking it out I also noticed one side of the rear trim panel has shifted out a little as well. I couldnt find any pictures of the back of a decklid trim panel for 18+, but the earlier years look like it shows there are bolts that hold that on as well at the bottom left and right side?

Spoiler nuts?
My mind is in the gutter again. Sorry

Make sure the bolts are clean and de-greased and use some blue thread locker.

Ok, bringing up my old post because I cannot for the life of me figure out to to reinstall and retighten the outer bolts to the spoiler. I have no idea what i am missing here, maybe im crazy. First picture is showing the stud coming from the spoiler into the trunk lid, and the second picture ive circled approx where that stud enters the lid.

I believe its a pp1 spoiler.

EDIT :: I've watched some videos on installs and removals and I see no mention of installing those nuts. they just seem to skip over it.

There’s just the 4 nuts, 2 in the center and one each on the ends. The other guide posts don’t have nuts.

I’ll try to look at my original spoiler later today (I took it off for the GT500/Mach 1 Swing) and see what it looks like. I honestly don’t remember, but there’s only 4 bolts that use nuts. The rest of the spoiler is held with 3M tape

Appreciate it. Yeah the 4 bolts that you referenced are all there and tight. The double sided tape seems to have released on the ends. But the threaded posts are dricing me nuts...literally. Had a loose nut in the deck lid which again drove me nuts until it magically came out one day.
