Taking out the sound tube isn't that bad...IF you have a 10mm wrench that has a shorter handle. First 10mm wrench I put on it, I couldn't get enough room to turn the nut. Then I looked around and found a shorter handled 10mm wrench and that gave me the room I needed. It isn't in the best spot, but it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be after I figured that part out.

As far as sound change, not sure...I have Corsa Extreme and it is my DD.

The fake sound it makes is awful. A simple way to try it is just pull the tube off at the intake and put a piece of stout duct tape over the stub then put the tube back on. Sounds way better gone. Cooltech is the kit I used, comes with a firewall plug and a grommet in case you want to run wires thru the firewall.

Ripped that sucker right out and plugged the hole with the delete kit that came with my airaid CAI. I like the sound inside the cabin way better now

How are you guys reaching that 10mm. Shipload of extensions and a swivel? My hands don't even begin to fit. Doubt I will be able to even plug the hole.

Just twist if off at the firewall and don't bother with the 10mm. You will be able to reach the hole to plug it once the tube is out of the way.

Or you can plug it from the inside. The hole resides right behind the gas pedal.

Big? No. Noticeable? Yes, particularly if you have an exhaust but not an obnoxious one. It'll reduce cabin volume overall and the mixing of noise makes it cleaner.

Do it. I had a friend do that with his Corsa Sport CB and it took the sharp edge off the interior volume with the windows up.
