You can get some rubber chair leg caps from Home Depot that work great to seal up the intake port. 1" size.
I guess the chair leg cap works but I don't want my beautiful engine bay sullied up by some cheap ass chair cap....lol. I paid for the Boomba billet cap. It looks like it belongs there and not in the kitchen.

Stock everything ....will deleting the sound tube provide an appreciable quieter cabin?
To me, the sound that went away is that dull drone sound in 5th and 6th car when cruising on the highway. I don't sense any change in noise when accelerating and decelerating at all. That droning, moaning unnatural vibratory sound when in overdrive was annoying and I am glad I did it. when I want the noise, I can get it by punching the gas pedal.

The shop I went to that installed my FP calibration kit which of course requires the sound tube removed and plug inserted.

plug inserted just fine.

I took home the stock parts and wondered where the sound tube was... I assumed it to be a loose part.

It turned out that it was still connected to the stock airbox that they took off.

I guess they either yanked the airbox out with the sound tube still attached or they unscrewed it properly while tube was still connected to the airbox?

I put the plug in from the inside - the view here under the accelerator pedal. It is a lot easier than getting a hand down there on the engine side.

My MT 18 has zero drone at any cruising speed. Runs factory exhaust though & it’s just right for me.
my rpm is practically at idle compared to my other cars. You’d think it was an electric car

I just disconnected my sound tube - I honestly don't hear much difference at all. Maybe slightly quieter at cruising speed...

Remember...if you have a 2-15-2017 GT sound tube that you have yanked off, I can use the rubber tube from the air intake to the first Helmholtz device for my experiment.

If you have one, please let me know to see if I can use it.

The 2018-2021 rubber tubes do not work as their shape is not compatible.

thanks
