I took the car to Great Lakes Dragaway to test drag mode and see if I could match or surpass my previous runs.

Temp was 57f, DA was 1480ft, there was a 15 to 25mph headwind.

1st pass, Drag Mode, 1800rpm launch 2.2 60ft, the car banged gears HARD until I got past the 1000ft mark, then it fell flat on its face.

I was racing a Dodge Charger that kicked my ass and hit a .096 light to my .486 light so I played catch up, the car banged gears so hard and I was catching him easily then suddenly I believe 7th gear past the 1000ft mark it went flat, ET = [email protected] to the Dodge 12.4@111

I tried another run in drag mode, this time I got a 1.9660 ft and ran another 12.2@114, dead flat passing the 1000 ft mark.

So I tried Sport mode, which popped off gears at 7400 rpms and I hit 12.5@114, which sucked.

I cracked off another 3 12.2@114 runs where the car went flat on the tops end. Son of a biotch.

Something is wrong with this car, it feels like a good 11 second run until near the end of the 1/4 mile when it goes flat, WHAT THE DAMN FRIG?!?!?!?

It's almost 1am, I'll post time slips tomorrow and hopefully my buddy has the videos uploaded so I can post them as well.

One good note, I beat a newer Corvette that ran a 12.6@117, but big deal, this car could have gone 11's tonight, but the damn thing felt like the computer just cut off timing.

Going by each run, the car should have run 11.96@119... but something is preventing it from pulling hard at the top of the track.

How do I ask Ford to fix this?!?!?!?1 :shrug:

Agree with the headwind comment above...It can have a significant impact. If I remember correctly, the rule of thumb is generaly for every 10 mph headwind, add a tenth and take away 1 mph. So in your instance, that could account for .2-.3 tenths in et and 2-3 mph. BTW, what was the octane of gas?

Check knock and egt and see if DI pump is falling off. DI issue will feel like losing 4 points of octane and 50hp.
Check your cats for cracks just in case ones starting to fold?

Hope its something minor like batch of fuel issue.

Maybe I didn't explain properly, the car runs like a scalded dog until the last gear where it literally falls on it's face. I've raced into headwinds before so I know the car could have gone faster with less wind however, let me say this clearly, the car falls flat on it's face, it goes from pulling hard to just moving if anything to the end of the 1/4. You can feel it drop, it feels almost like traction control kicking it.

There were other stock 18's there running 12.0@117 and another at 11.8@120, when I spoke with them they stated their car pulls hard through the end of the 1/4, in the same headwinds, no drop off in pull whatsoever.

As for data logging, I don't have the equipment for that right now. I'm going to have to explain it to the dealer who will say pretty much what is being said here.

I ran the car 4 times, using BP 93 octane, drag mode with TC off. The first time in the right lane was against a Dodge Charger who came up to me after the run and said holy crap you were catching up to me then suddenly you weren't, so he noticed the drop off in pull as well. He was literally driving a boat and was running damn near his normal ET and MPH.

The third run I tried sport mode but the car shifted earlier than it does in drag mode so it went 12.50, did the exact drop off drag mode did as well.

Also, I have run the car before, can't find the frackin time slips, but it ran hard all the way down the track, there was a headwind then as well but I didn't note what it was.

I have attached the timeslips, you can see up to the 1000 ft mark she is running pretty damn well. Notice the faster 1000 foot times in slip 2 and 4, those should have been 11.9 runs, it's almost as if the car has a limiter, like I said, it felt like traction control kicking in or a speed limiter, if any of you 2018 owners had been driving you would agree.

EDIT: the MPH is 114 in every run, so consistent even with the car running faster in the 1000ft, no increase in MPH at all, that is damn near impossible unless something is limiting it.

Lol sounds OK.. But if you have any concerns you should visit the dealer instead of playing around yourself.

Cars brand new, better to get it recorded so if it is an issue they can escalate it

No, ONE Camaro guy jumped on it and several others have yanked him back in line. Don't start a fight where there is none to be had. 12.2 is an awesome time, especially with the issues Loki-GT mentioned. 12.0 is an awesome time. 11.8 is an awesome time.

my mistake, you are right one Camaro guy. the ones who yanked it back are Mustang guys on the Camaro site.. and I missed the additional post where he mentioned the other mustangs running the much better times.
