All this "tick sensibility"...seems like people are ready to jump on a quiet electric mustang :lipssealed:

Now that's funny Jonyxz, I read Ceratec would quiet or stop the tick. I run Lucas oil stabilizer @ every oil change in my 16 Coyote motor. No mention of this?

While I agree that the DI has a noise of its own, I dont think the "tick" is DI related. The coyote has had this tick in previous versions and in the trucks and they were not DI equipped. Not to mention that the "tick" on many cars "seems" to start after some miles have been put on the engine or somewhere around the first oil change. Besides that, the tick sounds like it is coming from a singular point and not 8 separate ones. And I had a truly noisy DI pump and I can assure you that isn't the tick either. I think the "tick", "rattle" and DI noises are all separate and should mostly be ignored. Nature of the beast. And a beast it is.

I have a new 2020 and it has the tick
1st time I heard it was after the first oil change like many others
Going to use full synthetic on my next oil change instead of the 5w-20 blend to see if that changes anything

I still full send it often and drive it hard, it consumes about 1qt oil / 1200-1400 miles which I'm SLIGHTLY concerned about, but I've also heard that it's reasonable consumption and then some GT owners are saying they have almost ZERO oil consumption. I guess some engines consume more oil than others, but it doesn't mean it has issues? Some insight would be appreciated

I've seen no power loss as to what I can tell, but one odd thing is that my RPM needle slightly "jumps" at 1500-1700 RPM instead of a smooth upwards motion which is the exact range where the TICK is produced. When I'm accelerating in that range either in drive or neutral is where the TICK happens, only at that low range.

Someone enlighten me please

Anyone else seen or heard of the RPM needle skipping or slightly "jumping" at low throttle under 2k RPM?

Apparently the tick is still alive and well.

That rpm range sounds more like where the 2k rattle happens. The tick is not consistent or rhythmic.

All of them once fully broken in (gen3’s) are going to tick and rattle a little bit. It was all the paranoid boobs jumping on the bandwagon who had (very unrealistic) expectations of whisper quiet 12 to 1 comp motors with DI. Mine starting ticking @ 2200 miles and rattle (2k steady throttle) after 5k with 3 oil changes within 9k miles. Do I care? NO! Car trapped over 121 mph in full weight pp1 (4000 plus w/me) on factory tires @ 1500 elevation with crappy prep and very little traction into 3rd gear. Motor is a beast! Done rant...
Agreed with the power! I was ready to accept all sorts of ticks, but I can stand by my engine running, hood down and I can barely hear anything! Maybe the '21s have the DIs disabled at idle... who knows...
