"Snack Pack" Rear Visibility

It seems my concern over rear visibility with the bigger wing was only slightly valid. The wing appears lower in the rear window than I thought. Grabbed this from one of the Vegas clips. You can even see the reflection of the white stripes on the the shiny underside of the wing.

Obviously, I should have figured that the gummint wouldn't allow Ford to block the view.

Too bad the Mustang doesn't have the ability to use the rear view camera while driving. That was one thing I liked about the Camaro, the rear view mirror doubled as monitor for the rear view camera, you could even zoom the image while driving.

Earl: Roger on using the camera. The wife's CT6 has a stereo HD feed to the mirror and it's pretty amazing, at least during daylight. It's not so good at night though.

Lolllol. Y am I not suprised the Camaro needed to address its visibility.

1- because visibility has to be even worse than i thought if GM decided to add it

2-I suppose i dont see the need to worry about whats behind you in the blind areas that camera provides while moving forward- the #1 cause of accidents being drivers not paying attn to their surroundings at all times

Earl: My only experience with one of these mirrors is with the wife's car. It has dual rear cameras that are combined into a stereo image, making it possible to see much more on the sides. Sort of like a 32x9 aspect ratio film. My only complaint with it is the focal length is deeper than I like and I switch to the standard mirror at night.

Now, with a single camera, it all depends on the lens and how wide it is but theoretically you could still see more on the sides than with the standard mirror which again, theoretically would improve safety by a smigeon.

That's my story and I'm stickin' tuit. :-)

This X1000. I set everything the way I want when I get in my cars to drive. If I need to turn the defrost off or make any changes I wait til I hit a red light. Being a bit older my eyes don't focus in to find different controls and such as fast as they used to and I can't wear reading glasses while driving. Even looking at a typical speedo takes a while so I'm thankful of the large digital readout when in Track mode on my 18 GT.....I'm damned sure not going to be fooling around adjusting the view on a camera when I can see everything in my rearview/sideview mirrors which already have the BLISS indicators built in....Fugg distracted drivers......

Wow, I like that feature. And the adjustable brightness is even better. IMO the Mustang rear view mirror doesn't dim enough. I wish the rest of the car was a little better.
