Well yes and no.

No as in it works totally different. It's basically an option on the cruise control system where you switch it from cruise to limiter mode and use the buttons (Peugeot/Renault) or stalk (Mercedes) to set a certain maximum speed (displayed digitally on the instrument display). Contrary to cruise mode you keep operating the accelerator with your foot, but the car simply won't go over the set speed limit anymore. Of course the set speed is dropped when you switch off the car or when you disengage the system or when you switch it back to cruise control mode. The major advantage of using this system over cruise control is that you cannot forget to re-engage it after braking, because it keeps working after you brake. Especially in heavy town traffic where you brake constantly this is much more practical than constantly re-engaging your cruise control. Forget it once and you're speeding before you know it.

I do agree though that adaptive cruise control will greatly reduce this problem, since you don't have to apply the brakes anymore either to keep with the traffic flow. I'm really looking forward to having that on my new car.

Interesting. Thanks. I know a few folks in my family that that would greatly benefit. (Not me, of course! :D )

I'm curious if the gas reminder comes on the display at 50 miles or less like the 13-14.

I think he means something like setting the max speed to 30 and the car won't allow you to go over that, but will let you drop below that. Very strange, but interesting. I would never use that feature in a million years.

edit: /\/\/\ what he said
It's a European thing. They have cameras everywhere, and they mail you a ticket if you even go one mile over the speed limit. So, a heavy foot can add up quickly. It's much easier to set it and forget it.

First and foremost:

3. Leather option seperated from Premium Pack (I hate leather)

5. HUD with digital speedo and speed limit indication (BMW has this and it's ff'in sweet) -----this would be nice i agree but it's not a real gripe of mine.

10. Heated/cooled Recaro's

The other two, I agree completely. Except I don't hate leather but in my mustang I would be fine w/o the extra cost associated with it.

My gripe would be not getting PP with the ragtop. I know, I know, not for racing. But I want what I want because I want it. :)

1. Colors that don't have a huge shift or change depending on the lighting.
- a. Dark blue shouldn't be purple.
- b. Dark green shouldn't be grey.
2. The bottom of the side windows is WAAYYY too high. (or the door is too high, depending on how you want to look at it.) My '05 was really bad and it looks like it gets worse with the '15. I could put up with all the other things if they'd fix this.
3. Heated & cooled Recaros.
4. Hood prop rod.
5. Ability to order most any option individually w/o being forced to order a package full of things you don't want.
- a. 50th Anniv. wheels w/o having to get the ridiculous and cheap looking grille.
- b. Delete MyColor
- c. Delete ricer looking ambient lighting and illuminated door sills.
- d. Memory driver seat w/o oversized sub-woofer taking up trunk space.
6. Too much chrome/silver/aluminum (WHATEVER you want to call it) in the interior. The 'silver' toggle switches take it over the top.
7. The front end looks too much like other Fords. The side of the car looks too much like several other new cars... especially the small foreign cars.

1: Machine turned aluminum dash without having to pop for the performance pack. The performance package is unnecessary for how I (or most people) will use the car, but I'm not a fan of the brushed aluminum. My '09 bullitt had the turned dash and it was one of my favorite features.
2: Memory seats without having to buy the higher end premium for another $1800. The memory seats are the only part of the higher end package I'm interested in.

These 2 things have me seriously considering the ecoboost to keep total costs down. Going to have to drive both and see how the 4-banger stacks up :)

It is pretty awful. It attempts to make you shift from 1-to-4 under certain conditions by providing a resistance to the 2nd gear gate via a solenoid. If you don't know it is on the car it can surprise you and cause you to hesitate or not shift at all (and give the car behind you issues if they are trying to keep up with the Mustang :D). Many manufacturers added it in the past as a fuel savings "feature."

From the 2012 Mustang User's Manual:

Skip Shift (if equipped) (V8 engines only)

This feature locks out 2 (Second) and 3 (Third) gears for improved fuel economy. If the message center displays 1–> 4 SHIFT, shift the transmission directly from 1 (First) to 4 (Fourth), otherwise you can shift normally. Refer to Message center in the Instrument Cluster chapter.

You could bypass the feature by yanking the solenoid or getting a custom tune.
What a ridiculous "feature"....I could see if it was a toggle on/off thing but that just sounds like problems. I bet it caught a lot of people off guard.

Oh, believe me, it did. It happened to me in my 2011 all the freaking time and at the same locations due to my consistent driving patterns. Turning left off of my street onto a much busier 4-lane road and it would happen, putting me in danger of getting smashed by oncoming traffic in both directions. I'm SO glad that it was removed in 2013. I was unaware of it because I got an A/T in 2013 so that my wife could drive it if needed and because I was going back in to commuter status. She has yet to even sit in the driver's seat and I work from home almost 100% now, so my 2015 will be a M/T again

Also colors for me. They could have offered more vibrant lighter hues, especially blues and greens. The original '64 1/2 had 19 colors to choose from and this being the 50th anniversary year, there should have been more choices.

Grabber Blue has been out for quite a few models years now and it is probably good it is retired for a while. Ford has had some amazing lighter blue hues on the Mustang in the past and one or two of these would have been good to bring back this year:

K7 - Bright Atlantic Blue
L5 - Azure Blue
SN - Sonic Blue (one of my favorites)
K3 - Bimini Blue
MM - Ultra Blue
KA - Light Crystal Blue
7H - Bright Regatta Blue
F - Guardsman Blue ('64 color)
Y - Skylight Blue ('64 color)
H - Caspian Blue ('64 color)

Gotta Have It Green still seems popular and probably should have been offered but here are other good greens that could have been brought back:

SW - Electric Green
SU - Tropic Green
PS - Pacific Green
B - Pagoda Green ('64 color)
S - Cascade Green ('64 color)

For reds, I really think Ruby Red goes well with this car but Racing Red just seems "ordinary." Other reds that could have been brought out of retirement:

E9 - Laser Red (one of Ford's best red hues IMHO)
J - Ragoon Red ('64 color)
3 - Poppy Red ('64 color - it could be argued that this color defined the '64 Mustang and definitely should have been a 2015 color)

Original '64 colors for those that are interested:

3 - Poppy Red
5 - Twilight Turquoise
7 - Phoenician Yellow
A - Raven Black
B - Pagoda Green
C - Pace Car White
D - Dynasty Green
F - Guardsman Blue
H - Caspian Blue
J - Ragoon Red
K - Silver Smoke Gray
M - Wimbledon White (also a 2015 LE color - only '64 color on the 2015)
O - Tropical Turquoise
S - Cascade Green
V - Sunlight Yellow
X - Vintage Burgundy
Y - Skylight Blue
Z - Chantilly Beige

Ford still needs to leave some surprises for the next couple of years to get people, so I wouldn't be surprised to see more colors in a year or two.
