My other car is a Focus ST. It has just a 12.9 gallon tank!!
I think the Euro Focus gets a larger fuel tank. I enjoyed my ST, but the Recaros weren't for me.

Thats my excuse for buying a GT.

I got 22 on a 300 some mile interstate trip this past weekend! GT PP MT, and a really really crappy manual driver (me).

That's a great excuse too! The recaros in my ST are tight but I still enjoy them (12k miles in now). Wife and I both really like them but I haven't done a proper road trip in them yet and now with the Mustang, we probably will just take the Mustang on trips instead anyway.

Just wanted to say I like your username. I say shibby all the time, girlfriend doesn't like it much.

I'm usually getting around 200-225miles on about 13 gallon fillups in my 2011 5.0, 100% city driving.
Haha thanks. Been my nickname since about 6th grade (sounds like my last name)

Overall, sounds like I need to adjust my driving habits haha. I've been averaging around 13 mpg so far, but I don't push it often so I'm not sure what I should change. Driving a PP probably doesn't help the case.

Have you guys experienced the supposed MPG improvement after the break-in period passes?
I noticed an improvement after about 5000 miles or so in all highway driving on a road trip. About a 1 to 2 mpg improvement from the trip prior when I had 3000 miles

Wonder why they do that, they should of offered a bigger fuel tank as an option like the F150's have (20 vs 16-15.5)
I'm guessing to keep weight at a minimum.

This so far was the best MPG I've gotten in the GT. I was impressed ! It was mostly on 50-65MPH Farm to Market back roads.

20 or 22 gal would be great. I put a 20 gal tank in my 68 mustang from a 70 mustang. A lot more range.

It's pretty small. I'm averaging around 22MPG... not exactly a long tank of gas at that mileage. It's funny. The Ecoboost gets a 15.5 gallon tank, but the GT gets a whole extra half of a gallon for like 30% worse fuel economy.

Seems to me like someone missed the mark on that. Just saying.

Definitely. Picked up about 2-3 mpg highway after 5,000 miles or so. My car got 25+ on the road when it was new. Now it gets 28-29 with cruise set at 70. Mixed city/hwy driving, whatever that is, is about 21-22 for me. Never had a tank under 20.

I'm averaging about 10mpg now that I drive purely city driving (live in the heart of nyc), but when I first got the car I took 2 long trips out of the city and it averaged 23mpg mix of 30% highway and 70 city

never had a tank under 20!!!!??? Do you ever drive the thing? and I mean really "Drive" it. It's about impossible to get that kind of mileage unless you never get on it or have no traffic lights in your area.

I'll be the third person with around here that can compare the ST versus the EB Mustang. I'm trading in my 2013 ST for the Mustang. I like the Recaros in my ST, but honestly the stock seats in the Mustang are very good with lots of bolstering. The Recaros in the Mustang are really suited well for track use which I won't be doing in my mine.

The main reason I am getting the Mustang is to get an auto transmission. I am developing some hip problems on my left side and I'm pretty sure the ST is contributing to that. Jeez, I sound old. lol
