I have silicone wiper blades on. In fact this is the second set from 2 different manufacturer both do the same thing. They leave marks where the blades change directions. I can take magic eraser to get the marks off. Why do they do it and is there a way it will stop doing it?

at the risk of suggesting the obvious, try switching back to oem. they work great for me.
this, ive tried aftermarket blades the high end ones at that, last fine for a little while, brb. broken/streaking/noisy.

I only use OEM blades now on all my cars. they just last forever and work great.

OEM;

But you have to order them with the specific Ford part number. If you just walk into a dealership, they'll give you Ford branded generic-fit blades, and that's not what you want.

I order them off Amazon.com, and keep a spare set back.

This 100%. Tried some high-end Bosch wipers. They were complete garbage after only two months…. leaving streaks, chattering across the glass. Good old Motorcraft just works better.

Try wiping the blades down with alcohol and a soft cloth to remove any preservative film or release agent they may have on them.

I have only swapped blades once on mine so far and I like the ones I have on now a little better than the ones that came on the car. Usually I use Trico on my vehicles after the oem ones start streaking. Right now I'm using the Trico Titan blades. I have tried bosch in the past on another vehicle and they were junk. I was recommended those by the people working behind the counter since they said they used those albeit a lesser version and not the Titan's. Definitely have no complaints but they are a little more than what the OEM ones would cost. Have had them on only for about a year so I can't comment quite yet on durability. So far they've outlasted the OEM blades.

Well, after I had my car for a few months (garage kept and rarely stays in the sun very long except when I go shopping, etc.) one of the wipers began to chatter in one direction. I forgot if it was the upsweep or downsweep, but it did. I cleaned the windshield and wiped the blade elements with alcohol pads and it worked for a little while but then began to chatter yet again. My car only had about 2,000 miles on it at the time. What I finally did was use the Rain-X windshield cleaner and treatment and that stopped the chatter completely. Granted it doesn't last real long but since I wipe down my car at least weekly, when I wipe down the windows I use the Rain-X. It works really well, so much so that when it's raining and I'm driving at least 45-50 mph, I don't even have to use the wipers as the rain just rolls off the windshield very quickly. The best part is it doesn't leave any residue build-up where the wipers stop and change direction (which has happened when I tried other "glass cleaners or glass waxes"). BTW, I've used Bosch wiper blades on my other car and they work and last fairly long, over a year if garage kept; 6 months if out in the sun all the time.
