Shark fin antenna part #

I’m getting ready to have my roof wrapped black and instead of having my rapid red shark fin wrapped I was going to buy one and have it painted black. Anybody know if they come painted or do they come primed ready for paint? If so anybody have a part number?

I'm planning on the opposite. Get rid of my shark antenna. I think it looks like crap. I dont know the part number. They are not expensive, probably $50 at your local ford dealership.

Additionally, if memory serves me correctly on why the difference, I read that the fin has a GPS in the antenna while cars with the dome version has the GPS antenna in the passenger side dash...

Actually, it was my understanding that the job 1 antenna did not have sufficient 4G network connectivity. The solution was the job 2 shark antenna to provide better 4G reception to the AT&T network which your car uses for the Ford Pass connectivity. Ford Pass has a lot of neat features, but along with that has a bit of a dark side. I was up early and read the privacy policy. Ford tracks your cars location, driving habits, parameters, speeds, etc.

Not only will I be switching mine over to a round antenna, I will be opting out of Ford Pass. I will also be looking into ways to disable the monitored parameters because quite frankly, I don't think its anyone's business. I am not a conspiracy theorist, however my privacy is my privacy.

I raise a hearty middle finger to that BS. Having been a victim of the US OPM/Chinese data hack and then followed by the banking/credit breach mess that allowed near the same, I am reluctant to share anything of the sort. Cool app but with it your privacy goes right out the window.

But your driving habits, locations, speeds, everything you do is monitored and analyzed. I imagine if you were in an accident the first thing the opposite attorney would do is ask for is the data.

I agree 100%, you can bet that they will use that against you in a warranty claim if they can.
