Congrats again to boardkat, who came out on top in a spectacular ESP battle with Kit Gauthier's big bad Boss at the Packwood Pro. The echoes bouncing off the mountains were glorious.

thanks again, des, and great job pushing cox too! i was serious when i said we'd car swap in packwood for our local next weekend - i wanna see how the heck your "electric" car can hang so well!!Congrats again to boardkat, who came out on top in a spectacular ESP battle with Kit Gauthier's big bad Boss at the Packwood Pro. nice meeting you too, travis.Des and Boardkat, great to meet you both in person at the Packwood Pro! The Fiesta was a blast, but I think Deana will have more fun in the ESP Mustang GT at Nats. Our Mustang took another step toward ESP yesterday (MAPerformance tune), so hopefully we'll see if the Ecoboost cars can stand a chance in ESP. MCS shocks should be here soon...

Thanks Guinea Pig!updated first post with setup changes and additional feedback.
guess who's out of rear travel, rebound, compression and spring???
*very* bumpy local course i ran last weekend, had to jack rebound way up in the rear to prevent the car from porpoising over a series of bumps in a fast section; bottoming the shocks didn't help either i'm guessing, at least judging by the zipties that i blew off the piston! i'm running the absolute stiffest springs i can cut up to fit in the rear in the stock location (~1600lbs/in), absent a custom spring perch which i won't have my hands on until this offseason. definitely going to need to send the rears back to MCS for a re-valve, too. luckily, lincoln is a much smoother surface. still have no idea what kind of car i'm bringing to the fight this year, so the first day could be entertaining!
see everybody there soon - can't believe we're hitting the road next week! time flies when you're having fun ramping up the early adoption curve![]()
having spent so many years in stock class, i can't say i was enjoying this much as a driver 1st, setup guy a distant 2nd at first. but i've educated myself and have learned a lot about suspension dynamics and the supporting math this season! if nothing else, it gives me something to think about this offseason, rather than dreaming about driving for 6 monthsThanks Guinea Pig!
I wonder what the.stock KW Var3 will be like.
I would do the shocks/struts LONG BEFORE springs. The stock dampers suck for autocross use and adding more spring rate is only going to make that worse...boardkat,
I have read through this whole thread and the information here is tremendous. Thanks for sharing your findings and ESP setup.
I have been autocrossing now for about 10 years mostly with Volkswagen's, and a subaru for a year. Never were these cars prepared to be competitive. Maybe a set of 200 autox tires and some lowering springs/koni's. I now have a 2015 gt pp and would like to pick your brain.
I want to set the car up for CAM-C ,I picked up a set of apex 18x10 wheels and a set of 285 200tw tires. For financial reasons I can't set the car up out of the box so I'll have to do it in stages and generally on a budget. Also I want to make decisions suspension wise that will positively affect handling from an autox prospective bust still have it as my daily driver. My next mod now would be springs to lower the car and possible a sway bar. Struts will be next year and I will most likely go koni yellow.
What would you recommend for off the shelf springs? I was looking at steeda's linear springs that drop the car 1 inch. Should I run any different sway bar front or rear?
Thanks for your time and input.
