4 bolts would be fine with the hf trailer.

My hitch has 8 bolts total, 2 on the side and 2 on the bottom on ea side.

2,000 lbs towing and 200 lb tongue weight.

Thanks! I would think getting those side bolts in while trying to raise the hitch in place was the hardest part. It wasn't bad at all doing the hitch on the Subie with just the 4 that hang down. I'm hoping that only using the ones that hang down would make it easier to take the hitch off on site for big events.

just finished rolling/pulling my front fenders - and a bunch of other secret sauce to get the monster 18x12/335s to fit. only have a pair right now though, so i mounted some 315s up, and managed to get about 2/3" more width/corner over the 315/11 setup i've been running. i'm taking the car out for its maiden voyage running wide this weekend. CAM/street tires/11s have been fun, but now it's time to get serious! pics and more details to follow.

first event on the new setup.

front: 18x12 Forgestar CF5 | 315/30R18 Hoosier A7
rear: 18x12 Forgestar CF5 | 335/30R18 Hoosier A7

TTOD and, most importantly, no rub! :)

the car was SETTLED, i couldn't believe some of the stuff i could take at WOT that would have lit up the 315/11 setup i'm grown used to. trouble is going to be getting enough heat in the rear with just 1 driver though. i guess i'll just need to drive harder :p

apologies on the painter's tape, just a local practice event and the car was dirty so i didn't want to scratch the paint with magnets. nevermind the gorilla tape holding the front bumper on though

boardkat, any chance you tried the 315 on a 12" in the rear? In case you haven't thought about it that may be a good setup if you can't get the 335s up to temp.

What do you think of Dallesport? Smallish lot and not much pit/paddock space but it is smooth.

i will make the 335s work :)
.. but yes i've got ample amounts of 315 scrubs and (2) sets of 18x12 now, so it's an option

with the availability of the western taxiway, there is much more pit/paddock space than the last time i was there in the fall without that access - when we were forced to paddock on the grass. not sure if that was the case for the events earlier this season too? as for the surface, i'd have no problems making this my "home" course vs. the alternative @ PIR :)

Did you need to use spacers?
in the rear, no.
in the front, yes (35mm) - mainly because i wanted a rotatable setup. but also because i don't have offset struts (which would have given me at least an additional 10mm of inboard room). even if i didn't want a rotatable setup and had offset struts, forgestar can't make an 18x12 CF5 with an offset lower than +36, so i'd have still needed a small spacer.

SteveW - I think the biggest part of his problem is that he doesn't have the 335's up front yet. I doubt highly that his car wont get the heat in the rears when he balances out the tire widths. Why? Because right now, even though the car is relatively neutral, he isn't working the rears as hard as the fronts because the natural tendency is for the fronts to take the abuse. With the wider front tires that will change some because the increase in front grip should also correspond to an increase in cornering speed which means increased acceleration on exit, etc, etc, etc. God knows there is enough weight in these cars to put some serious heat into those tires...

Plus.... he needs to get himself a co-driver to warm the tires up for him! lol :)

You probably already know this but if you run more compression in the shocks it heats the tires faster. You could add rear compression and then adjust your spring rate and rear toe to get the balance back. It might only need a slight ride height adjustment to get the balance back.

This is a big problem on 911's but it's the front tires that wont come up to temp because the front is so much lighter than the rear. Just a thought.

Those rear tires look impressive :)
