What kind of dealer does that, run away!Looks that way. Another complication: Went to the dealer today - no test drives on Mustangs according to them.
Need a different dealer. LOL

Ford's doing a nice job of basically keeping the V6 down this generation. They are pushing the EB hard to make their CAFE #s.Have you tried looking at reviews? For example

and
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2015-ford-mustang-ecoboost-automatic-test-review
There are no big name reviews for the v6, but the previous gen is very similar.
Actually, this is intended to be my daily for the next 10 years...Sounds like a smart idea buying a base V6. I honestly think the ecoboost having more torque would be better in a small course. I wish they offered the v6 in other configurations and let the consumer decide which they wanted. I have bought my fair share of base cars. They are the right financial decision each and every time no doubt about it. To me this mustang was about spoiling myself and the shaker sound system with the premium interior did that. I really don't buy the reliability argument. If you plan on running this car into the ground sure. But this being a mustang means you're a car enthusiast and likely going to trade it in long before either motor sniffs a bit a trouble.
It really is a valid question - why do you think it comes up frequently? The engines are close enough in stock form regardless of how you look at it and each have their own advantages. Tuned, you are right, the EB will respond to mods better per $. Otherwise your bias is tiring and adds absolutely nothing to the conversation. The ecoboost is a better motor tuned or stock. More hp, tons more torque, better mpg, and tuned it's a monster. It's really not a question.
Tell that to all of the guys posting about EB specific problems in the Issues, Repairs, Warranty, TSB, Recalls section. Maybe you don't buy it but I'm sure this is or was a major consideration for most - it was for me when I was looking at both.I really don't buy the reliability argument. Yes I've driven the 6. It was very close performance wise. Almost impossible to tell a difference with the butt dyno besides the low end torque difference which was noticeable. I've always kept things civil and polite here and expect the same in return. If you compare the two on paper there is no doubt the ecoboost wins in every category. The fact that the 6 is close in every regard doesn't negate the fact it loses in every category hp, torque, mpg, bang for the buck modding.oilfieldtrash - out of curiosity have you even driven the 2015 3.7L V6?

To the OP:
Try this, make a simple table with two columns designated for the V6 and EB each. Write down as many "advantages" that matter to YOU personally in each. Highlight the most important ones and then make a judgment call. There is no wrong answer here just preferences because at the end of the day you have a great Mustang!
I understand and try to be objective as well but unsure what you think I said was uncivil or impolite. Making blanket statements like the EB is better no question etc. is just opinion which we can do without. I get the sense that a few members seem to possess an elitist attitude as soon as someone starts comparing the V6 and EB.I've always kept things civil and polite here and expect the same in return.
On paper, I think most would agree that the EB is better as it should be but also consider that Ford seemingly degraded the V6 (ratings / no options) to get more buyers in the I4. There have also been quite a few members that said they would have driven away in the V6 instead of an EB if there were more options but asking that kind of question is self-defeating.Yes I've driven the 6. You mean that warranty you'll pretty much void with all those mods you plan to do on the EB or have done on the V6?After owning and heavily modding an 11 v6 (down to swapping the internals in the mt82 and multiple gear changes) , ecoboost with Performance Package is all around better vehicle even compared to the year and a half I ran the 3.7 with 3.55 gears. I'm sure with just a tune and a couple of mods I can get this car down to the low 8s in the 1/8 I made with the 3.7. From a money standpoint, depending on what you're going for the v6 is a better option if you don't plan on modding since base price is cheaper... but if you do then ecoboost won't take anywhere near as many add-ons to achieve the same performance numbers and should still get better gas mileage. I haven't had my 15 but a few days but after having owned both cars and building the 3.7 for 3+ years I don't regret making the switch
Maintenance shouldn't be a worry, especially with warranty
