That's with supersix's intake I believe. Stock numbers are the lower curves.

I think he means that you'd have to run premium to get the advertised HP. That would be an interesting comparison, HP on v6 vs ecoboost with 87.
Exactly.

And I really think Ford lowered the "official" V6 numbers to make the I4 look better. It used to have MORE HP (305 IIRC).

Not that it makes much difference but with Ford attempting to make this a "world car", the I4 is a huge focus for marketing and keeping the HP numbers up is a major marketing ploy.

So no mag has done a comparison yet, correct?
That's what I was hoping for...

With the info right now, looks like I would go V6.

And yeah, regarding the sound... clear case there v8 > v6 >>> i4 ;)
Sounds like you had already made your decision to me. Not sure what you were lookin for from a review since they are usually pretty basic/high level

Actually you have to drive them to judge the sound.. at least from inside the cabin. From what I remember it's actually louder inside the ecoboost than the V6 because of the symposer thing. It's actually pretty cool but you need to drive it yourself to see if you like it.

I really doubt that conspiracy theory. It would have been incredibly easy for ford to simply tune the EB to have another 10hp

Look at this chart of the Livernois stage 1 tune for the EB

0-60 times for the EB are slightly higher than the V6.

V6 1/4 mile time is slightly higher than the EB.

Road course, the EB is going to have the advantage over the V6 due to it being lighter over the front wheels and the EB able to get the performance package.

Why would ANY manufacturer lower HP numbers for the same engine?

Not a conspiracy theory... pretty much a fact.

The reason for not giving the EB "more" is for durability reasons. The same for ANY engine. Manufacturers CAN get more out of any engine if all they wanted to do was win a numbers game. But durability would suffer which would increase warranty repairs and a loss to their reputation.

How about WITHOUT the PP... if we're comparing Granny Smith to Golden Delicious?

You're in Japan? it's 9 am in the morning on a Saturday.
Shouldn't you be out driving your R34 instead of asking nonsensical questions?
