S550 Hood and body panel Alignment issues.

Anyone else down for making sure this is a known thing to Ford? Post the pics if ya got them. Yes I know, we all know these are all pre-production but I don't think anyone would want to be a guinea pig in this situation. Especially for all of us who have preordered

Yes, I am making an assumption, but not necessarily an unreasonable one. And of course it's possible a few regular production cars might have a fit issue here or there. Nothing is perfect. But I don't expect there to be widespread issues with poorly fitted hoods and trunks.

that's just the weather strips showing. I don't think there's a huge alignment issue.

The post title simply says "alignment issues", which to me (and most car folks I know) would refer to suspension fine tuning and adjustment. Yet the fifth post here mentions hood/trunk fit.

And I agree with the above, I have faith Ford can sort it out on their own, but just to make sure. There is no harm bringing attention to the issue with the preproduction models.

And maybe it's just the angle, but look at the front edge of the driver's door where it meets the fender. The gap is larger toward the bottom.

Hopefully these are pre-prod issues as many examples of poor alignment of the body panels have been noted, specifically around the hood/headlight/front bumper area and the trunk. If I find more pics that I've seen in the past I'll share here.

Love the Under Siege reference too, found a DVD years back at Best Buy that had 1 and 2 together and scooped it up!

I have seen (2) in person and so far and the bottom where the drivers door meets the front fender has had a wider gap, Additionally the fender sticks out further at the point where the bottom of the door meets the fender.

Is there any chance the hood issue could be literally from all the pre-production models having to open the hood literally soooo many times that it just gets out of alignment like that?

I mean these things are going to shows, etc and they go up and down up and down a ton of times...way way way more then any normal user would ever have his hood up.

I noticed on the Race Red model they had at the Dallas Auto Show that the front clip had a large gap. I am hoping it is due to it being a pre-production model.

I hate driving down the road and seeing the tight, smooth fit on imports and seeing the huge gaps Ford leaves on trunks and such. They can do better.

I just took delivery Monday evening (this is now Wednesday!) on a Limited Edition 50 yr. pony. The front of the hood next to the front apron is definitely misaligned. I pointed-out the issue while car still at dealership getting inspection sticker.
Appointment scheduled with dealer in the morning to try to fix it. However, the service guy assigned to such problems said they may never be able to get it perfect. He said they spent awhile today trying to get the Limited Edition delivered on same day as mine aligned. Dealership told me that they already had five GT's delivered that have come back for same hood/front apron misfit.
This is not what I expect of ANY new car--much less a nearly $50k limited edition unit. It is limited alright. Limited in how well the hood/front apron align.
I bought this unit mostly as an investment. In legal terms it is "not fit for the particular purpose" for which it was purchased.
Previously have purchased seven F-350 Superduty Crew Cab diesels between 1993 and present. Never have had to return any one of those for any type of build issues. H,mmm.
