The picture is self-explanatory, it's a pimple above the 5.0 emblem on the fender. The bump is not indented but literally raised like a pimple.
It's perfectly spherical and is solid. It does not scrape off or peel easily, I scraped at it a bit with my nail which has left a small crater but it took some force (which I'm hoping is a good sign that the bubble isn't rust/corrosion related?)
Felt like I was chipping away at hard clear coat and/or paint...

Anyone else have this or seen it on their s550?
I'm trying to determine if it's paint defect and move on, or if it's being caused my rust or corrosion, which would mean another trip to the dealership...

It's perfectly spherical and "looks" like it was pushed out from the inside, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing underneath that would cause this.
Anyone else ever see this before or know what could have caused this? I'm pretty stumped.

You have a 3 year B2B. Bring it in and tell em to fix it. Assuming it's not a stone chip.

IIRC front fenders are aluminum… that could be the same issue that happens with the hoods. If it’s not aluminum, then it’s an issue with dirt being under the paint and it’s now breaking out…

It doesn’t look like a stone chip, because if it was, it would be below the surface. There would be a physical divot in the surface, breaking clear, color and be down to primer or metal.

Stone chip.
it's not a chip, the small circle is raised above the panel, there's no indentation or scratches on the surface

Better angle of it, when I press on it there's zero budge or give, it doesn't feel like a corrosion or rust bubble since I've been told I should be able to flake it off or break it inwards if it was rush/corrosion. It's solid and perfectly smooth with no cracks in the paint or clear coat.

Could it just be a paint blob, paint defect or overspray that was there from factory?
It's very small so it's possible I never noticed it until recently after washing the car.
If it's a paint defect I'll live with it and no big deal, but if it's rust/corrosion obviously I'd get it fixed at the dealership ASAP.

Are there any ways to be sure or test that it's just extra paint versus rust/corrosion starting to show?

Sand it with 2000 grit and see if it's solid paint.ypull need to buff it out with some compound or Maguire 3 and 9
