So I've been searching, but am still not sure about this question. Does the 2015 Premium Ecoboost (Package 200A) come with the back up camera standard? Is the reverse assist, 77R option $295, just sensors that are in addition to the camera?

Camera is standard on all trim levels. Reverse assist is just the sensors.

Back up camera is standard on all models. Yes, 77R is sensors in addition to the camera.

Reverse park assit question

Here's one that I actually do know the answer to.

The rear mounted camera that comes standard, when the trans mission is put into reverse and the image will show in the nav screen.

With the reverse park assist option there will be an audible as well as visual that warns you, just incase you weren't really paying attention to the camera image.

The audible can be disabled as well.

My Ford escape base model with rear view camera has as Grimmace457 indicated a colored grid pattern that shows green, yellow and red as you get closer to an object. It also supper imposes a radis as you turn while backing up.

Very useful! I don't think I'll be ordering the Park assist, just because I haven't needed yet for the last 40 years. The camera should help enough.

So now the question..

Is it really worth buying this additional option??
If you are often careless while reversing, yes!

I can see it as useful when backing into a cluttered filled space (garage perhaps?).

Or if a dog or person happens to come up behind you all of a sudden...

It's not terribly expensive, and if you can turn the beep off when you want I think it's a decent option.

Exactly what is this? Can't find a good description anywhere, including Ford. It's a $295 option (77R).

puts little sensors in the rear bumper and some guidance type indicators on the mft screen - when using reverse camera. lets you know if you are getting too close to something or if something suddenly comes into your path. Beeps and stuff. Not sure if it throws on the brakes if collision is imminent.

All when backing up, of course.

I think the backup cameras are standard, so RPA would be those bumper proximity sensors that progressively warn you with a chiming action, I would assume.

Not needed based on my experience so long as that camera is standard.

I've test driven models with both. For the cost of the sensors I will be adding them to my order. It is a small price to pay for an extra level of protection

Agree with you, and initially didn't order them because they were unnecessary with a backup camera, but I changed my order to add them on anyway, just because I'm unsure on the angle of the rearview camera and I figure it can't hurt to have them there since I do parallel park every day and bump into things at 1/4 mph during that process pretty regularly.

What I'd REALLY like is a front camera, also for parallel parking, because it's easy to know where the front end is in relation to a car in front of me... except if it's got a trailer hitch. Busted up my front license plate because of that many times.

I'd say less needed. But for the price, seems a non-issue to just order them.

Touché, and that's how I feel about the premier trim option. I guess I just don't see it being necessary since I've never personally owned a vehicle with one and the backup camera seemed pretty darn nifty.
