Resonator delete with stock mufflers

I'm looking for a slightly louder than stock upgrade to my exhaust. Recently purchased the magnaflow competition axlebacks as I liked the deep sound in the clips, but they are too loud and boomy inside the cabin. I'm thinking of putting the stock mufflers back on and trying a resonator delete. I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to anything other than axle backs so bear with me. My understanding is the resonator delete is essentially replacing the resonator with either an x pipe or h pipe. I've heard some clips of these set ups but honestly I've already been burned with clips. Id like to know if anyone here has this set up and can tell me how much louder the resonator delete sounds compared to stock particularly inside the cabin. Thanks!

I have the h pipe only. You can hear rasp in the upper rpms, but the sound difference overall is minimal. I may have a slight leak as that rasp (I guess that's what its called, sounds like flatulence) seems louder than I think it should be.

Which brand did you go with and did you bolt or weld it on?

I have an X-pipe resonator delete. You can actually hear the exhaust while driving (stock you can't, even windows down...it's all engine/induction noise in front of you), but it's not particularly loud at all. The sound is pretty nice overall, but it does get very raspy at high rpm, and not in a good way.

If you don't want to do both a resonator delete and an axleback, I would look at the FRPP Touring, Corsa touring or JBA axle-back with your stock suitcase resonator. The magnaflow competition is a very deep exhaust. Another option that involves replacing the whole catback but is known to be a mild but very nice sounding setup is the Borla Touring.

just did this over the weekend. i got a lightly used xpipe from my neighbor for $40. I was actually surprised just how little a difference it made, which was actually a good thing. i was kinda afraid it would sound too loud, or have alot of drone, but nope. its just slightly deeper and slightly raspy, but just enough to sound the way the car should from the factory IMO.

I believe mine is UPR. Cut the back end of the resonator and it came with band clamps.

I have the CJ H-pipe. It's like 50% louder than the silent stock pipes. No drone. Sounds great when warmed up, no harsh tones at high rpm. For the price, no regrets. It's great volume a bit on the quiet side.

However you're not going to win any awards revving next to a Corsa or Borla axle back set. Those do sound better for 10x the price.

I have CJ Pony's H-pipe with stock exhaust as well. Sounds pretty good. I have gotten compliments on the sound, even from people with full exhausts. I would say it is about 20% louder with no drone. Has a deeper true muscle car sound. I also wanted a little louder, but not break the bank. I did get mine welded in, as I am not a fan of exhaust clamping.

I had the MRT H-pipe with stock mufflers for about a month. Nice rumble addition to the stock mufflers. Cruising zero change, just cold start, and hard accel difference. I ended up adding an axle back as wanted more. I personally would steer clear of an X-pipe as they add an unpleasant rasp imo.

Just left my local shop. They recommended a magnaflow style xpipe with the stock mufflers. He told me it shouldnt be to raspy or droney...but I'm not so sure based in what I'm hearing here.

For all you guys running x or h pipes with stock mufflers how much louder would you say the over all volume is? What about cruising in high gear low rpm?
