Very good. I think I'll be doing this in two stages then: 1) axle-back, 2) h-pipe.

Do you recommend H over X? What is the difference in tone?

to me x is raspier and higher pitched, h is more muscle car sounding.

Then I'll go with the H. I like the deep tone.

Do you think a more expensive H pipe is worth it? CJ pony parts sells two different ones, and the MRT one is more than twice the price. It's just pipes, right?

I haven't seen the other h-pipe they offer so I can't comment on that

I am leaning towards this setup as well. I like the Borla S Type but for the money this seems a better bang for the buck.

The cheaper CJPP H-Pipe is just aluminized steel which may rust and the other is stainless steel which will last a lot longer.

+1 for the Roush + H-pipe combination. I receive compliments on this system daily (literally). But it is fairly loud, and by all accounts is one of the louder non-header setups out there for the S550.

I have the Ford Racing x-pipe with Roush axel back and it definitely has a raspy sound at high RPM under acceleration. Definitely started once I installed the x-pipe. I'd like to hear the h-pipe setup in person.

i also have the Roush AB and have been thinking about getting the H pipe myself. I just don't know if i want to compromise the quiet highway sound :)

I have the Roush AB with an X-pipe. While borderline unforgivably loud on hard acceleration (which I totally love, btw), I have found it quite docile and pleasant when cruising at highway speeds. I have no problem holding a normal conversation with passengers while cruising. At no time do I feel overpowered by the exhaust until I get on the throttle. Drone is non-existent and overall volume level is totally acceptable.

I installed the Roush and Lethal Performance H-Pipe combo... simply phenomenal with lots of compliments but it is LOUD when you want it to be. With Lethal's H-Pipe hearing the sound of the exhaust with the windows down goes past the smiling stages into childish giggles from the fun of driving it.

+1 for Lethal Performance / Roush Exhaust

After driving quiet cars all my life, I'm looking forward to something a little brash when I want it to be. "Hey! I'm here! And this is my awesome Mustang V8! Deal with it, Mr. Prius!" (not that I mind has saving technology, but I can't stand the way the Prius drives).

I don't want to make anyone upset with me, but I figure I can learn to back out of my driveway without being annoying.

I have the Rosuh quads with a custom X-pipe and I have 0 drone at highway speeds cruising. At low RPM's it has a nice rumble but when you step on it and get it into the high RPM range it screams. I love the setup. Ill try and find a video to show everyone
