Cruising around it was not noticeable, unless accelerating a bit. Only difference is cold startup, and when accelerating a bit. Cruising down the highway literally sounds like stock. Overall volume increase when accel hard is hard to put a number on. Yes its louder, but not much. Should've come from the factory that way imo.

Thanks.

How about rasp? Someone of these resonator delete clips sound pretty raspy at higher rps.

The X ones are definitely a bit raspy (gets better when the exhaust is warmed up fully), which is why I'm adding an axle-back, other than wanting a little more volume.

I had h-pipe with stock mufflers for the last 6500 miles and was very happy with them but just wanted a little more with no interior noise so after a ton of research and posts of peoples opinion I installed the Borla Touring and I couldn't be happier, worth the $ for sure!! Great low muscle car sound and no interior drone or noise really and also no rasp anywhere in the RPM's I like that at lower rpm's when cruising around you get a little more sounds and gurgle that makes the car feel much tougher!

I would say 20% louder, increasing as you accelerate.

It's not so much rasp, but the 15-16's make a weird tinny sound. My RTR got rid of that. Even bone stock when you rev up the 5.0 they make that strange metallic sound...

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I had a shop put the stock mufflers back on and replace the resonator with an H-pipe. It was super cheap.

I was worried it would be too loud, but its much quieter than I expected. Sounds pretty close to stock volume wise but with more rumble on start up and acceleration. You don't hear it at all cruising. Feels a little stronger on the low end acceleration but that may just be between my ears.

I may upgrade to an axleback down the road to get some more volume, but for now this is nice upgrade. Sounds like how it should have come from the factory.

It sounds like we're after close to the same thing -- I bought a Ford Racing x-pipe, and later got the SLP Loudmouth II's -- very reasonable directly from SLP (part of Kovington Performance Holdings, also affiliated with Roush) -- I had those put on, and they have fantastic looking finishers, and a nice tone that's quiet around town. Strictly speaking, any exhaust louder than stock is illegal in MD -- but there's no way to regulate your intentions for upgrading, or database of stock sound pressures, so... I still have my x-pipe sitting around, since I'm guessing that will ramp up the noise level significantly - just something to consider.

I just put on the JBA axleback yesterday and it was exactly what I was looking for. It's definitely an increase over just a resonator delete, but overall quite mild for a full aftermarket catback. Deep and throaty sound throughout, but quiet when cruising. Cold start really isn't that loud either, just a touch more than just the resonator delete, but a different tone. I didn't like the tinny tone of the stock mufflers with the X pipe.

I was happy with just the X pipe for a couple months, but this is perfect. Not bad for $500 total (X and axle back).

Where did you get the JBA axlebacks? AM only has the catback system.

Volume wise how do you think your set up compares with the Magnaflow competition series axlebacks I started with? Those were pretty loud and that was with the factory resonator. I don't want to go much louder than what I've got now.
