Most premium fuel has no more additives than regular fuel and is of no higher quality.

If you want better additives, only fuel up with stations that are Top Tier rated.
This is certainly true here in the US but poster is from Europe. Not sure how their gas differs.

E85 should be added to the poll. It's biased!

Right! This question comes up every few weeks and it always turns into a shit show...

The OP could have EASILY searched the forum and found this topic covered over... and over... and over... and over again.

I started noticing that on cheap 93 octane I still had pining on my 93R tune on my 2016 GT, so I switched to Shell 93, and it went away. The car ran smoother too.

At least in this area, the cheap gas (even supposed 93 octane) is crap.

There's an Exxon sitting just outside my subdivision, so I got an Exxon Rewards Card, hooked it up to the Exxon app, and they're now my exclusive gas provider. Love activating the pump from my phone while I'm pulling up to it. Fill up with 93, and I'm on my way.

For me, Shell or Sunoco 93 octane. When traveling, I buy the highest octane top-tier brand I can find. In five months, 8 states, and 8300 miles my butt dyno can tell the difference.

Low-key, that's a really good idea. The number one place with card skimmers is gas stations. If you can pay through an app or make a contactless payment(NFC), you are a lot safer.

You'd be much safer than that in NJ where you can pay the attendant in cold hard cash.

It's been about 25 years since I owned any car that didn't recommend at least 91 octane (including my '08 GT which has had a 91 octane tune almost from the day I picked it up).

My apologies. I didn’t mean to start a gasoline or oil war here. I will search the forums going forward.

We only have 91 readily available here in my area. Having said that, if I'm out for a weekend drive with friends, I'll fill with 87 since I know I won't be hammering on it. Track days are solely 93 + a little Torco. These engines today are advanced enough to recognize detonation, so if you do use 87, all you'll notice is a very slight power loss. I've seen dyno results using both and the losses were surprisingly minimal.

Virtually every topic on this forum has been discussed previously and in many cases multiple times. Although it seems repetitive adding a new post about a old subject allows new members to join the conversation and for possibly new information to be discussed. Now what I would like to see less of are multiple posts on the same topic at the same time. I’m not holding my breath. :)
